Yesterday, Brooklyn stood by the sliding glass door for about an hour, yelling the boys names as she saw kids playing on the school playground. When school let out, Kaydon spotted her in the door and started running as fast as he could. They were SO HAPPY to see each other. It seriously made me so happy! It was the sweetest thing I have ever seen.
I love watching Josh do homework with the kids. Seriously. Their homework is WAAAYYY over my head. He has a ton of patience with them and they really take to that.
Dinner time. (Laughing out loud!) Josh served up KFC last night. As you see, everyone is sitting very good at the table... until we get to Little Miss. Do you love that position?!?! The older I get, the more I care less about the stuff that just doesn't really matter. It actually makes me laugh.
Bowling. Josh took the three older boys grocery shopping and to get their pine wood derby car kits. The two youngest "bowled." Apparently, bowling no involves some kind of kickball technique.
Just a few things that make me happy!

It was a weekend spent mostly inside, in my chair. However, the boys and I did have date night. We went to Sub Zero. Have you been there? SO amazing! They use nitrogen oxide to make my ice cream! Love it! AND they have a fire place to sit by. Who knew?!?! The kids were fascinated. Pretty fun stuff! The rest of the weekend, I stared at my flowers and plants and get well cards. They cheered me up and made me happy!

Colton had a lot of fun painting a model car that his cute scout leader gave him. The kids have played and played. Yes, that is Brooklyn mooning her dad. I couldn't believe I caught it on camera. Hillarious! We went to eat my favorite gyros at Yannis. We love that place! Josh got he and I new tablets. I have fallen in love with mine!I love it! I mostly just sit in my chair with my coloring books and sudoku games, watching quality television... taking lots of medicine. I went to the doctor yesterday because my pain has increased dramatically. I have a bladder infection and my lower abdominal muscles are torn. BUT, I did finally sleep in my own bed last night, instead of the couch.

Yesterday was rough. Very rough. I was up all night on Tuesday night, throwing up. That doesn't feel so good when you've just had surgery. I woke up to my children fighting and Braxton locked in the bathroom. I sat in the house for hours, unable to do much more than watch tv, color and wish I was outside, at work, taking care of my kids and I all by myself. I cried. I cried. I cried. But then, Jackson stood at the school fence and waved. I laughed. Then, Paula IM'd me. I smiled. Kaydon came home from school, handed me a homemade gift and hugged me. I cherished it. Colton came home singing "I love you, Mom." I felt my heart beat a little faster. Josh called to talk to Braxton. Braxton changed completely. He smiled and laughed and joked and loved on his mom. I was so grateful. My mom took me outside... to the tanning salon. I laid, basking in the UV rays. I felt warm. It's a new day. I've decided to make a choice to be happy today, no matter what.
P.S. Have you seen these hospital gowns?? Um, they are AMAZING. The nurse asked if I was cold. I said, "NO, but you WILL be hooking me up to that special vacuum!!" He did. It heated up my hospital gown. I decided I was in a spa! Just a very expensive, somewhat stressful, painful spa... but a spa nonetheless!

Josh and Brooklyn paid me a visit with my new night light!! I was so sad that I didn't get one for Christmas, so Josh made me one for Valentines :) Brooklyn stood at the sliding glass door and yelled for the boys (who were playing at recess). Pretty cute. The boys shared some love candy with me. My sweet visiting teacher brought me some goodies. Hopefully, the boys have eaten most of their candy so that we don't have any more sugar highs and lows :)

Last night, when the boys got home from their fun-filled weekend, they filled out all of their Valentines. Josh finished building Kaydon's Valentine cottage and Jackson's rocket for NOVA. They painted it and put the decals on. I think they both loved it! And... Braxton made an extra valentine... although I'm pretty sure it isn't for me.

Josh's mom is celebrating her birthday this Wednesday. Since surgery was last week, we took her to dinner a little early. As you can see, Brooklyn wasn't thrilled to be there :) Maryanne made me her amazing hello dollies! Oh my goodness. Amazing! Surgery day came, and it was successful. Yea! I had an allergic reaction to something...we're not sure what, but Josh still talked them into letting me go on the afternoon of the second day. It is so good to be home! AND... a love note from my Becky!!!

For the Super Bowl, Josh and I did squares for the kids so that they could feel like they were included. We went to the dollar store and bought a WHOLE BUNCH of crap for them, and then just handed out surprises the whole game. They each got a puzzle and last night, after homework was done, they all sat around and put their puzzles together. Flat tires - UG! I have had to fill my back right tire up every single morning for the last week. This morning, I took it to the nice guys at Burt Brothers. There was a nail in it and a loose valve core (whatever that is). They fixed it and sent me on my way... for free. AND... a love note from my Miss Birdie!

It was a busy, busy weekend for us! Most of the it, though, Brooklyn and I wore our matching slippers. She is so into matching right now... finding matches and having things match. She thinks it is so cool that we have matching slippers! Josh worked so hard this weekend on putting in a new toilet and putting the new couch together. He is determined to have everything ready for me to be as comfortable as possible after surgery. Nana got to do her most favorite thing... nap time with Brooklyn. They both LOVE that time! Colton practiced his roller skating. We had our own little super bowl. Kaydon brought home his "Wildcat of the Week" certificate. And, no weekend is complete without a few wrestling matches! AND... a love note from my Colton.
