Slip Slidin' Away

I got the kids a slip 'n slide. I had one when I was young and I totally remember it! They had a blast on it last night and when I called them at 8:30 this morning and asked them what they were doing, they said, "Just enjoying our slip 'n slide!" SO FUN!

Dancin' Lady

Brooklyn had her dance recital this week. I seriously hate my camera right now because these came out so blurry. She was AWESOME! She came out and just started free-stylin' it! She was ready to break it down. It was SO Brooklyn! She did fantastic! So grateful I was able to be there... and her mommy made sure she looked SO beautiful, as usual. Love that girl!

Pool Time

Saturday was a super hot day! Swimming is the best option on days like that! This was a memorable day, too! Kaydon went off the high-dive for the first time. He did awesome! Brooklyn was VERY helpful and put sunscreen on everyone. AND, I couldn't take my eyes off of the 70something year-old man wearing a speedo!

The Oaks & Pineview Resevoir

Friday night, Joshua took us up Ogden Canyon to a quaint little restaurant called, "The Oaks." It is beautiful! You sit outside amongst the trees and shrubs and river. We had a hummingbird friend who visited often. The food was delicious and the scenery was spectacular. Then, he drove us up the road just a little further to Pineview, where the kids walked down to the water and skipped rocks. It was lovely. We missed having Jackson with us. He's at the age where friends are cool to have and hang out with. But, when he got home that night, he told us that he would have much rather been with his family!! BONUS!

Utah Shock Semi-Finals

Saturday was the semi-finals for the RMFL. The Shock played the Stealth. It was a warm night. The kids decided that it would be way more fun to "watch" the game from the grass, so I took my new chair that Josh bought me and camped out on the grass in the north end zone while they played. Josh played incredibly. He always does. But, the Shock lost by four. End of season, end of Shock. The owner has decided not to continue on with ownership duties. I walked around and watched these grown men cry. I tried SO hard to hold it together! My little Kaydon just cried and cried and then Braxton started with the tears. I took the kids home and got them in their jammies and got them something to eat real quick. It was almost eleven at night. Then, I went outside in the front yard and sat up against the garage door and just sobbed. I didn't take that loss so well! Josh was still not home, and I knew that he needed some time. Braxton and Brooklyn found me in the front yard and then the other kids did too. They all snuggled up with me and we just cried. Josh came home soon after. He loved on the kids and got them into bed. I am so stinking proud of him! He is my MVP, for sure. He played great and it was a great season!

Father's Day in the Park

On Fathers Day, we met my dad and step-mom at the park, along with my brothers and their families. It was a great day! I am so thankful for my dad! I love him so much!

Bees Game & Fireworks

Saturday night, we took the three monsters to the Bees game. After the game, they had fireworks. The fireworks were so GOOD! I didn't have high expectations, but they were really great. We sat out on the grass this time, which really did work better for the kids. They had their hot dogs and we watched a little baseball... my favorite!

Skipping Rocks

Last Friday, we only had the three younger boys. Brooklyn was with her mommy and Jackson was at Youth Conference. So, after Johnny Rockets, Josh took us to a lovely little pond in Farmington. I'm pretty sure that not many people know about it. It was PERFECT. There is a rope swing hanging from a very old, tall tree. We watched a couple of kids swing from it and promised the boys we would bring them back, with swimsuits, to swing from it also. There were also some young boys in the pond who had built a homemade sail boat. The bottom was an air mattress, with a large piece of wood on the top. The sail was made out of canvas and they had their oars to paddle. It cracked me up! Such a beautiful, fun spot!
