More from Brooklyn's Pie-Throwing Event

I love these pictures. I love that Brooklyn loves Primary. I love that Brooklyn loves her Primary teachers and that they love her too!

Sunset Days

On Saturday, we took Brooklyn and Kaydon to Sunset Days. Sunset is just up the road from us and it seemed like an easy thing to do with just the two kiddos. Jackson was with friends, Braxton at scout camp, and Colton was at his 1-on-1 with Papa and Grandma. A few things I never want to forget about this day: Brooklyn has THE best brudders ever. The boys are so good with her. They are perfect gentlemen, so protective, and always wanting her to be happy. Sure, they fight and they are all mean to each other at times, but when it comes down to it, she really does have the best big brothers a girl could ever ask for. Second, Kaydon riding the "ride of death." Seriously almost peed myself watching him on that thing. It was the FUNNIEST thing I have ever witnessed. When he got off, he could not walk, and ran into the fence. The worker of the ride was even laughing so hard that he couldn't stop. Third, italian ice. It was my first time having it, but certainly not the last!

PuttPutt

Friday was a rough day for me. Josh asked what I wanted to do Friday night. I told him that I wanted to go miniature golfing. We arrived to the fun spot and the kids all whined and complained and became grumpy-pants immediately. Apparently, they hate mini golf. Weird, as we had never been before. Whatever! I was determined to have a good time, regardless of their panties being in a bundle. There were moments when they had a good time, pretty sure. Don't mind the fact that we lost WAY TOO MANY balls in the water... even on a mini golf course. Whatever!

Robb Family Barbeque

Last weekend, we had a super fun barbeque at Papa and Grandma's house! Josh grilled up some amazing food and we were surrounded by family. Just Uncle Ryan and Brooklyn were missing. Love this family of mine!

Golfing

On Saturday morning, Joshua took me golfing. I haven't been in almost four years! I sucked back then, too. Did you know that I golf barefoot? I do! Did you know that I use a tee no matter where I am on the course? I do! Did you know that I don't actually keep score. Duh! Did you know that Joshua has to keep about 14 balls in his pockets so that he can just keep throwing them to me? He does! This guy is the definition of patience. I say bad words. Only a few, though! I threw my club a couple of times. It didn't break! I broke some branches off of a tree. It was impressive! I made my ball skip right through the water and onto the green. Even more impressive! I didn't hit anyone on other fairways! Even MORE impressive! My husband is a natural athlete... good at EVERYTHING that he does. I am not a natural athlete, therefore NOT good at everything I do... but it's entertaining!

Nana's Wedding

On Saturday, Nana got married. Our favorite part was that Uncle and Auntie were there. Uncle just about burst into tears when we left. We need to go down and visit them SOON! Uncle and Josh are hysterical! We are so glad that Nana is happy and wish her a lifetime of more happiness!

Dad Time

Last night, I looked in the backyard while up in my room exercising. I saw Josh and Braxton in the garden. They were just walking around, talking, checking for any food that would like to be eaten by our hungry little mouths. Then, they grabbed Braxton's bow and arrow, stacked up some hay, and shot. Then, they lost the arrow in the UNWEEDED garden and searched in the dark, with flashlights for it. Then, they came inside and went to bed. I don't ever, never, ever, take for granted that my boys have this in their life now. They have a dad who spends time with each of them, individually, gets to know them, does what they want to do, talks to them, disciplines them the right way, and loves them.

Summer Fun

When I got home last night, Josh had made dinner and started laundry, and was sitting outside on the front porch watching Colton and Brooklyn play with their friends in our sprinklers. There was giggling and laughing and yelling with joy. It was awesome. At one point, Josh yelled to me that I had to go look at the kiddos. This is what I found:
Who doesn't love laying on hot cement after running in cold water?!?! This really does make me happy! I love that my kiddos have friends and that we have a yard where they can come run through the sprinklers!

Toothless

Little Miss lost her first tooth last Tuesday night. It was high drama, but it happened! It's been loose for quite some time and during dinner, something snagged it. It was laying almost flat and it was causing a lot of pain. She was screaming for approximately one hour, four minutes, and 25 seconds (but who was counting?!?!). We kept telling her that we needed to get it out so that it would stop hurting. Finally, she let Braxton snag that thing right out. The screaming stopped immediately and she was SO proud! Braxton is the best brother... seriously. He gave her $1 for being brave AND the tooth fairy came with four quarters! Lucky, lucky girl!

One-on-ones

My parents take each grandchild on a one-on-one each month. It was Kaydon's turn on Saturday. He has been SO excited, and has had it all planned out for quite some time. The grandchild gets to choose where they go. It has to be an activity... like, they don't get to go to the toy store to pick out a toy. That's not an activity! They get to eat somewhere and do an activity. Kaydon chose to go to Antelope Island, and since it's pretty much our backyard, it was perfect! Plus, Grandma and Papa had never been there!

Swimming at Papa B's

On the Fourth, we took the kiddos to Papa B's. He has a swimming pool in his backyard, and a nice BBQ! The kids played and played and played... even the big kids. My kids are funny. They loved squeezing into Papa B's pool and playing for hours, but they don't like going to public pools that have lots more room! Guaranteed, we will be spending more time at Papa B's this summer!

Perfect Movie Watchin'

There is a movie theater in Layton that has recliners for seats. Hello?!?!?! Did you just hear me??? Recliners, People. Give this girl a Diet Coke in a recliner and I am set! We saw How To Train a Dragon Dos on Friday to begin our Fourth of July extravaganza. The husband slept through the whole movie. Pretty sure every father there did the same. Jackson also snoozed a bit. The rest of the family was just stoked to be so comfy with popcorn in their tummies. It's seriously the BEST way to watch a movie! Except, next time I'll take my blankie!

Farmington Station

Have you been to Farmington Station? If not, GO! It is like going on a mini-vacation. Seriously, it is. Thursday night, Josh had to work so the kids and I went to Farmington Station. That is the closest Old Navy to us and I really wanted to get them flag shirts. Only problem was that they didn't have anymore because it was the day before the Fourth. Whoops. Anywho, the kids and I did go to the candy store. Pure awesome sauce! Then we got some dinner at Johnny Rockets and just walked around. My kids are seriously so much fun to hang out with. They say and do the funniest things. I am SO grateful to be their Mama!

Jello

Oh, how I love my girl! Last night, it was just she and I. Josh took the boys, fed them and took them to scouts/mutual. Brooklyn wanted a hot dog for dinner. Then, she wanted jello. She LOVES jello. She does NOT like "chunks." I had made the jello with pears. We started eating it right out of the pan. She ate the jello. I ate the chunks. Then, she tried a chunk. "Hmm, Mama, that isn't so bad!" :) Then she continued to eat the jello while I ate the chunks. Before we knew it, we finished the whole pan! She looked at me and said, "Like a boss Mama!" Like a boss, Baby Girl!
