I Just Love You

Work has become harder and harder.
I was telling X & K yesterday that when I started here eight years ago, we NEVER called the police.
We have had them here four times this month.
It's exhausting.
It's draining.
It's such negative energy.
Being told every day that you are this and that and being threatened...

This morning our Caroline's sweet mama brought us flowers.
Just because.
She is literally one of the top three most Christ-like people I know.
She also came with hugs.
She gives the best!
As she hugged me, she told me she loves me and is so proud of me.
Exactly what I needed this morning.
Exactly what I needed.

The sun is out.
The weekend is just about here.
I plan to be outside as much as possible.
Soaking up the sunshine.

These sunglasses make me happy.
Burke said, "They are SO you!"
Not sure if that was meant as a compliment but I totally took it as such!

Tracked Out

Cooper had his last track meet of the season on Monday.
Burke told Rian that I've been the "Track Queen."
He's not wrong.
I've adjusted my entire schedule: personal, work, family to be at every track meet with him.
I've felt a little out of sorts, to be honest.
He ran the fastest he has all season.
Then the thunder and lightening came and it was called off.
Coop didn't make the championship team, so the track season is over for him... and me.
He did great.
I told him I'm so proud of him.
But, I'm grateful that this "season" of my life is in the past!

Last night, I got to Ryker's baseball game a few minutes late.
Due to the events I mentioned above, I haven't had a last appointment for a few weeks.
I normally go weekly.
I rushed to Bountiful for his game after I had some Taylor time.
After the game (8:45 at night!), I rushed home and did some pilates.
Then I climbed in bed.
This one came right in with me.

I am very grateful for the beautiful, majestic place we live.
It's beautiful.
The views from the east bench are stunning!!!

Weekend Catch Up

Busy. Busy. Busy.
Ryker had his first 7-on-7 football game Friday night.
It was freezing.
It was soaking wet.
Ryk and I went and he had a blast!!
He said that he kind of likes it better than regular football because the games are only 30 minutes long.
I was not disagreeing with him on Friday night!
Spy with your little eye Baby Lucas in the black and gray coat.
He is the 2 1/2 year old brother of Isaac.
Most of these boys play baseball, basketball and football together.
Lucas is the cutest!
He always wants to be a part of the team and so he loves to run out to the huddles.
I want to be Lucas when I grow up!

Ryker was the team captain.
This is him running back to his team after the coin toss.
One day soon I'll share the conversation he and I had on the way to the game!!

When Papa got off work, after the baby shower on Saturday, we met up with Jackson, Isis, Colton, and Kehlani for dinner.
Note: I only got pictures of Kehlani.
Duh.

She had a whole lot to talk to Papa about.
You know - dinosaurs, baby shark, daddy telling her "no," her birthday party (which was actually Mia's baby shower)...

Sunday morning, Aria, Rian, and Tyler came over.
Aria was needing a lot of one-on-one time.
We made protein balls.
Dipping them in the dark chocolate is her very favorite because she "loves to lick the chocolate off the spoon."
She was covered in chocolate by the time we were done!

Lately, she wants Gigi to bathe her in the "bubble bath," then do her hair and she gets to do her makeup with pale colors.
She loves it.
When she was all done, she went outside to show Papa.
Papa told her she was grounded because she's too little to do makeup. :)
Aria giggled.

She asks to pose in her favorite posing spot, too.
Oh, my heart!

They left around 3 and then Jackson, Isis, Colton, and Lani came over.
Burke grilled hamburgers and Lani found Cooper.
When Papa isn't her best friend, Cooper is!
He is SO good with the little ones.
They played with the radio-control truck.
Papa grilled.
(He did such a good job on the lawn.)

The dogs played fetch with Porter.

She helped Cooper "wash the makeup brushes."
She was SOAKING wet by the time she was done!!

And she pretended she was playing in hot lava while Colton played with the radio-control truck!

She also wanted a bath in the "bubble bath."
She was all clean when they went home!

It was a good weekend.
Full of family.
Love.
Work.
Sports.
Yummy food.
Date night with kids.
Just the way I love it.

Baby Shower for Baby Hudson

Mia's stepmom, Staci, did some an amazing job on putting together this shower!!
Mia wanted a Safari theme and Staci came through big time!!

I was in awe at the number of people there to support this growing little family.
Baby Hudson is already so loved.
Braxton's buddies were all there and so supportive.
Papa & Grandma came!!!!!!!!!!!
We were all so excited to see them.
Kehlani looked at my dad and said, "You not my papa!"
Then she decided it was okay that he was "another papa!"

Four generations in this picture!!!

Missing Kaydon!!!
(Burke works Saturdays. The three youngest boys were with their mom. The two oldest were busy.)

This little Crew is so cute!
He is OBSESSED with Braxton.
Kehlani loved having a little buddy.

Only 5-6 more weeks until we get to hold Hudson Dean!!

Missionary Moment - Puerto Rico San Juan & Dominican Republic Santo Domingo West

She's crazy.

About a month ago, we had had an intercambio with the assistances to the president where they comes and we did a blitz on the area because its so far from the capital. I got one, Elder Jackson got the other. On this exchange, a girl of 16 years old was brought into an existing lesson and was taught the word of wisdom (commandment of God concerning our healthy bodies and minds), and she accepted right away.

About a week later, we had taught that same existing lesson with Mella present about eternal families that are sealed together in the temples. She then had asked us personally to come to her home to meet her Dad, so the appointment was made, and we left her with a pamphlet explaining the restoration of Jesus Christs New Testament church.

When warrived to the planned appointment she had been waiting, she had read and studied what was written in the pamphlet and had understood completely that even though she had been baptized before, it wasn't complete being with baptism of the spirit and by one who holds the holy preisthood that only exists in the church of Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, we couldn't give her a book of Mormon having run out earlier in the day, but we gave her the plan of Salvation pamphlet until our next visit.

Upon returning, she had taught us the entirety of the plan that God had created, making it possible for all of Gods children to come back home to Him. We then gave her the long-awaited Book of Mormon, another testament of Jesus Christ.

About 4 days later she had read the first book of Nephi and had decided to accompany us after we had explained the gospel of Jesus Christ which explains the way to live by faith in Jesus Christ, repentance and change to ve better everyday, baptism, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. With the following lessons, she learned more and more about our church.

About 2 weeks later, she has decided to get baptized this coming Saturday and has wanted to come with us to the majority of our visits.

She told me that the way she knows that the church of Jesus Christ was restored is by reading the Book of Mormon, and with an open heart, she can feel the truthfulness of what she reads.

She now has read up to the book of Mosiah in the Book of Mormon and is currently more active in the church than most of the members. As she comes to all our "noches de rancho" (family home evening for the whole branch) and walks nearly 5 miles to get to church (she lives super far...farther than anyone to the chapel).

She has become a very special person to teach

Much love.

Baseball League #1 & Baby Shower Prep

Ryker had a double header last night for league #1.
They got creamed in their first game, and won 18-3 in their second.
I was texting my dad during the game - telling him that being the daughter of who I consider to be the best baseball coach that ever lived is not easy!
I have things I want to say constantly!!
Annnnd, I have no filter.
So...

Yes, you DO see a very large heater.
There are three of them actually.
Yes, Burke brings them to every game for me.
Yes, I need them all on at the same time.
No, I don't share well with others.

Also, he packs 40 hot dogs, buns, and condiments to these double headers.
He sets everything up for me and I grill during the last inning of the first game while he keeps score.
Then we hand them out to the kiddos as they're walking from the first game to the second game field so that they have food in their bellies.
He's amazing like that.

In the midst of constant sports and work that has been at such a high volume I'm barely keeping up, Mia Girl has her baby shower tomorrow for Baby Hudson.
I'm in charge of food.
Her sweet stepmom is hosting it and is doing everything else.
Do you know about Pinterest???
It's astounding to me the talent and creativity people have...
AND THE TIME!!!!!

This is not an illustration of what I will be doing.
But, I love the ideas.
I left the house at 6:45 this morning to get the shopping done for it.
Tonight after work, I go home and grab Ryker then turn right back around to come back to Ogden for two 7-on-7 football games, then go home and get all of the food ready for the shower which is tomorrow.

I got Cooper's track uniform washed so it's ready for Monday's track meet.
Porter's got clean clothes for school and work this weekend.
I'll wash Ryker's baseball uniform so he's ready for practice tomorrow and his first set of games on Tuesday.
