Things & Such

Kaydon's car was having a hard time starting.
He asked Burke to help.
Between Burke and Porter, cars get fixed at our house.
A new battery.
Porter changed his oil.
Burke changed his cabin filter.
It's running like a champ.

Porter also rebuilt the engine for the riding lawn mower during the week.
NBD.
It mows SO good.
When I got home last night, I literally marveled at the way the lawn looked.

This weekend is the Hill Air Force Base Air Show.
We are super lucky to be able to see it from our backyard.
Guaranteed I will be in the pool watching the flights.

These Smiles!!

Mia sent this winner to me yesterday afternoon.
Can you even with that grin??
He has started scrunching his little nose when he smiles.
I just want to eat him up!

I FaceTimed these little misses yesterday.
Delilah is such a ham.
She makes me laugh ALWAYS!!
Her little toothy grin is life!

This one is growing up so much!
I miss her!
Her daddy says her days and nights are a bit mixed up.
But that face!!!

Finally, this cup of goodness put a fat smile on my face yesterday morning.
I ate it for breakfast.
Thanks Victoria, Onyx, and Odin!!!

Dear Grandpa,

My brother texted me yesterday morning, asked if my mother had told me about my grandpa.
No.
My brother called me.
My grandpa was in the hospital.
He's been going downhill for a long time; as has my grandma.
Falling
Not eating
Not showering
Now, in the hospital
I was told.

Later in the day, he told me that my grandpa would be dying.
He was being put on hospice.
He has heart issues that will kill him.
He's 94.

Burke asked me if I wanted him to get me on a plane.
No.
Especially not by myself.
We'd go to the funeral, I told him.

I wanted to talk to my grandpa while I still could.
I desperately tried texting and messaging family members who were there, asking anyone ANYONE to put a phone up to him so I could talk to him.
No response.
Radio silence.

I am not going to get into details in this post, other than to say this:
Dear Grandpa,
Thank you for seeing me.
Thank you for hearing me.
Thank you for trying to protect me.
Thank you for loving me, even with the narrative given to you.
Thank you for loving my boys.
They LOVE YOU.
Thank you for your hugs and kisses on the lips that you give EVERYone.
Thank you for your stories.
Thank you for loving people.
Thank you for loving everyone.
Thank you for your hard work.
Thank you for your peanut butter balls.
Thank you for your example of a husband and father and grandfather.
Thank you for teaching me to ride horses.
Thank you for listening to me.
Always.
Thank you for being my grandpa.

Last night, I heard from a cousin who contacted another cousin who called me on speaker so I could tell him I am so thankful for him and I love him so much.
He didn't know who I was, I'm sure.
He spoke of things I didn't understand.
It didn't matter.
I was able to tell him what I wanted to say.

She sent these pictures, too.
I am grateful to both of my cousins for making this happen for me.

I love you, Grandpa.

One Month

Melanie Rose is one month old today!
She is so beautiful.
I think she is just a perfect mix of Kehlani and Delilah.
I can't wait to hold her and love on her again!!

Parading

This past weekend was Syracuse City Heritage Days.
Most of the good times take place just down the street from our house, at Founder's Park.
Cooper, and the Syracuse High football team, were part of the parade.
He got up early, took the 20 pounds of candy I bought for him, and hitched a ride on the float.
He was out of candy about a quarter of the way into the parade!!

Sunday morning, he got up early and went to the gym with me.
So proud of him!

We went and got Squish to give his mommy and daddy a break.
Papa introduced him to whipped cream.
He was ALL IN!!!
He was in a whipped cream coma.

Later, we were all trying to get him down for a nap.
Uncle Cooper is usually the one who can do it.
No such luck,
So I put his swim stuff on him and took him out to the pool.
I put him in his little floating raft and he was OUT.
Then I told Burke we need a boat. :)

Fireworks are part of Heritage Days each year.
Our dogs don't love fireworks.
Until we give them CBD.
Then they LOVE fireworks because they're semi-conscious!!!

That 70's Show

When I got ready yesterday, I realized I was all kinds of That 70's Show Vibes!
I was dressed for the occasion!
Just give me a few lines and I'm in!

It's Friday.
I'm pretty thankful.
I've been going to bed at 6 each night.
Even though I had six days off...
Sometimes I get frustrated with my brain.
Other times, I just throw on a polyester dress that looks like it would match some green shag carpet and rock the day!

Football Camp

This morning, Burke and Ryker left the house early to take Ryk to football camp at the University of Utah.
I love this Squirt.
He will forever be the baby, even though he's almost as tall as me!
I hope he learns lots and gets tons of energy out!

I LOVE seeing the sun rise each morning as I go for my walk & do my personal power hour!
It's so, so beautiful!

Little Dancer

This little dancer is my most favorite tiny dancer!
She LOVES taking dance classes.
She loves making friends.
She loves dressing up.
She loves having her makeup done.
She is the cutest little thing.
Oh, Kehlani!
You're going to move mountains!

My VERY Long Birthday Weekend

This is 47.
I took six days off to contemplate that.
Just kidding.
I took six days off to reboot, fill my well, and relax!
I decided to do that last year as well and I think I will continue this tradition for years to come.
It is just what I need!
Wednesday was the last baseball game of Ryker's baseball season.
They lost the playoff game, but he had a lot of fun this year.
New coach.
New team.
I love watching him play!

Mia Girl made these darling and DELICIOUS cake pops for my birthday.
I wish she'd sell her goodies.
They are SO good.
She is so talented.

Burke went golfing Thursday morning with some of the guys from work for a vendor tournament.
I went to the gym each morning.
Did my personal power hour and my professional power hour each morning...
It was such a great routine to get into!

I also did a lot of momming.
These boys needed a hair cut.
As you can see, they're always so excited about it!

But so handsome afterwards!

I got in the pool every day.
Sat in the sun each day.
Did yard work that I wanted to get done.
It was exactly what I needed!

On Thursday, after golf, Burke picked us up to go to Leatherby's.
That's where I wanted to go to celebrate!
It was Cooper and Ryker's second time there.
I took them last year.
Porter wanted to know why he wasn't with us!!!!
He was quizzing me.
He was working, so...

My sweet friend, Tamra, made this for me.
I LOVE it!!!!

Friday, Jackson and Isis brought the girlies over.
They came Friday because they were busy with Father's Day plans on Sunday.
Melanie Rose has gained TWO POUNDS!
She is three weeks old and is just pure joy!

Kehlani LOVES playing with Uncle Kaydon when they come over.
He spoils her with lots of one-on-one time.
Encanto.
Coloring.
Popping popcorn!

Delilah loves Gigi lately and I am not sad about it!!!!!!!
All the cuddles, smiles, silliness!
She's so fun!

I had Hudson time on Saturday.
He is so goofy.
So fun!!
He's still a Papa's boy, but when Papa is at work I get snuggles galore!

We went to walk around the mall after swimming for a bit.
He ate 7/8 of the chicken nuggets from Chick-Fil-A!!!!!

Sunday, I got Hendrix and Aria time!!
Hendrix is happy when eating!
He is still a mama's boy, but he'll take Gigi!!
He's not a fan of water.
He still cries all through bath time.
I took him in the pool a few times and he didn't scream, so I'll take that as a win!

Aria, on the other hand, could live in the pool!!
It helps when Uncles are out there with her!

It was a weekend full of seeing all of our kids and grand babies.
SO much love.
So much rest.
So much goodness!
This is 47!
