Girlies

Isis sent me this pictures from the weekend.
These cute girlies got to ride ponies!
I am literally obsessed with my grand babies...
Not that it's obvious!

I love that they were not afraid to hop right on and take a little horse ride!

Cute little family!

Annual Lunch & Softball

We did it again!

Steak & Softball.
For the people who make this place go 'round.
I am so grateful, again, for my people!

Did I mention I have a new boss?
It's literally been life-changing.
P told me from day one that Gage would eventually be my boss... that when P was done working for the city (or died in a plane crash), Gage would be P.
Unfortunately, that didn't happen.
Unfortunately, V was hired as our boss and was over our division for seven years.
It's been a very, very hard seven years.
I went to work daily in actual fear.
My stress level was never at baseline.
I cried most days.
I just kept going.
I often felt P close by, telling me to just keep going... that everything would be okay.
Sweet Burke would try to comfort me and validate me and just support me.
It's been an actual nightmare.
Finally, and mercifully, he retired.
And Gage got the job.
From day one, my fear went away.
The tears have ceased.
I am validated WAY more than I should be at this point.
I feel P close, rooting on his Gager.
Everything has changed for us, in the best possible way.
I am so grateful.

St. Louis 2026

Burke, Riley (Burke's co-worker and basically our 10th child) and I arrived in St. Louis on Friday afternoon.
We changed our clothes and walked to the stadium.
Busch Stadium is gorgeous.
The plaza that surrounds it is so fun.
There is live music, vendors, and lots of baseball fans.

Friday night, we sat right behind the Cardinal's bullpen.
It was HEAVEN.
I was able to watch the catcher and the pitchers warm up.
It was a dream come true!

The view was great.

Ozzie Smith came out and presented Yadi Molina with his induction to the Cardinals Hall of Fame.
I love both of them so much!

Remember how I was so sick all of last week?
Burke got it.
Poor guy did NOT feel good!
We walked to breakfast at a quaint little restaurant.
No pictures.
Then we went back to the hotel and Burke took a long nap.
Another co-workerISH of Burke's lives in St. Louis.
He provided us with our Sunday day game seats.
He and his wife go to Puerta Vallarta with us each year.
They took us to dinner at a great Italian restaurant.
It was deliciouis.
Then we went to an Irish pub.
This place was SO cool.
It is one of the oldest buildings in St. Louis and it had so much of its original architecture.
An Irish band was playing and I loved the whole atmosphere.

When we got back, Burke and Riley walked down to the plaza and had some snacks.
I slept.

We woke up early Sunday morning and walked to the arch.
It was COLD and so, so windy.
But beautiful.
It's a massive piece of architecture.
Stunning.

It was Riley's birthday, so I made sure to loudly sing to him whenever we saw other humans.

Our seats on Sunday were behind homeplate.
I got my score card and got to work!
Beautiful stadium!!!

After the game, we headed over to the plaza for ice cream, chips & guac, and lemonade.
It ended up being a beautiful day!

SO grateful for the opportunity to go do this.
Burke spoiled me per usual.
Riles had a great birthday.
It was perfect.
