Hudson's Birthday Lunch

Papa & Gigi took Melanie to breakfast on Monday, as you might recall.

This year, we are doing birthday dates with our loves.

Yesterday, Papa & Gigi took Hudson to lunch.

We went to Wendy's.

Hudson had chicken nuggets, french fries, and ketchup.

He LOVES ketchup.

He also had a cookie.

And Papa's drink.

This kid is a talker.

He told us all of the numbers and colors he saw everywhere we went!

Going back home was not his jam.

So, he came to Papa & Gigi's house.

Then to Ryker's baseball game.

His daddy came, too.

It was a good break from the nightly work his daddy and his papa are putting in on the yard.

He turns three tomorrow & is having a big boy party!

 

Painting

I've been seeing edited pictures the last few days.

I gave it a try and LOVED the outcome.

It looks so fancy... like Applebees!!!

 

Getting Started

The backyard is getting started... again.

But this time is for real.

For real for real.

Like, measuring, getting the things, digging the spots, tampering...

"What is tampering, Babe?"

Burke, "I'll show you."

We now have a tamperer.

Or maybe it's just called a tamper.

I don't know.

The skid steer was picked up.

3,000 pounds of sand was picked up.

Wayyyyy too many trips to Home Depot were made.

Braxton was at our house all weekend.

Cooper worked his butt off.

Ryker laid bricks.

Burke is exhausted.

Listen, I DID tamper.

I also Gigi'd like a boss!

Mia helped move bricks.

It was a thing.

The first project is almost complete.

The brick patio just needs the trim placed around it and DONE!

Next, the pool area.

A small brick landing spot.

The pavers placed for the frames.

The pool cleaned again.

The pool put up again.

 

Melanie Rose is TWO!

Melanie Rose is TWO.

Rose Bud.

Melrose.

This girl is magic.

She is fiery!

She knows exactly what she wants and she has zero issue letting you know!

Her facial expressions, her jabbering, her naughtiness!

We just love this baby girl so big.

Papa & Gigi took her to Black Bear Diner yesterday morning for her birthday breakfast.

She loves her Papa.

She sat with Gigi, though!!!

I eat those moments up.

Graduating

Kehlani Isis graduated from kindergarten!

Kehlani is the sweetest. 

Her reading has come so far. 

She loves making new friends.

She's so creative and SOOO girly.

Aria Jane graduated from second grade!

Aria is growing up SO fast.

She loves playing video games with her Nana and JerPop.

She told me she loves math (we are not the same!).

She is creative and kind.

We love these girlies!!!

 

DIY

I am not a fan of getting my hair done.

It's actually a very hard thing for my broken brain to go through.

Sitting in a loud, busy environment for a couple of hours is really difficult.

So, I decided to go to my good friend, Amazon.

I ordered some hair color.

It arrived yesterday.

I followed all of the instructions exactly.

Set the timer.

Waited.

I did it.

It didn't come out green, which was a bonus.

But the older I get, every single color we try pulls red.

EVERYTHING.

I was hoping for a darker, ashy blonde.

I'm over the dark brown.

It didn't come out the color I'd hoped for, but at least it didn't fry my head!

 

Father & Son

Ryker had a baseball game last night.

Burke came right from work.

I LOOOOOOVE these pictures I was able to snap.

Dad right there, coaching his boy.

Always there.

Always teaching.

Always.

 

May Family Dinner

Yesterday was our family dinner.

These two nuggets got to our house early and got some good one-on-one time with us and uncles!

Aria is SO excited that school ends this week.

Her class is having a party and she gets a long break!

Isn't she so beautiful?!

Hendrix was excited to find balls and to lay on the floor with the dogs.

He is the busiest little man.

He rolled balls with Uncle Cooper for a LONG time.

Brooklyn joined us.

Brooklyn is Porter's girlfriend.

She bought herself a dirt bike on Friday and they've been working on it over the weekend.

She works at PCMC and starts nursing school this fall.

Jackson, Isis, the girlies, Colton, and Diana showed up later.

Delilah was all about the ice cream and the sprinkles.

When at Papa and Gigi's, you get what you want!!!!

Then the girls and Gigi painted rocks!

Look how cute Kehlani's watermelon is!!!

Melanie Rose did so good.

She even got some of the paint on the rock!!

Delilah June painted what she wanted and Gigi fully supported that.

Then there's this guy.

The favorite.

Where Papa is, the children are.

This is Melanie pretending to be asleep because I was begging her to let Gigi hold her.

Isis asked her repeatedly, "Do you love Gigi, Memalie??"

Finally she said, "No. I love my papa."

And with that, I knew that he was still the favorite.

 

Sponsored Date Night

Burke was invited to a Bees game with America First.

The plan was that he was going to take Ryker on a fun little outing.

Ryker wanted to go to baseball practice instead.

I was very proud of him for that!

So, Burke got to take me instead.

We don't take these moments for granted!

We hold hands in the car.

We talk about work and kids and baseball and football.

This was our first time at the new stadium...

More on my thoughts regarding that later.

It was a beautiful night.

Free food.

Meeting his associates with America First.

Hearing baseball bats hit baseballs.

 

Baseball Season

Ryker had his first baseball game on Tuesday.

He is a Cub this year.

His coach is Ray, a coach he's had for years and years in all sports.

Ryker played first base and right field on Tuesday.

I love sitting at the field and I love watching Ryker play with his friends.

On another note, look at this beautiful nightstand!

Cooper made this in wood class.

I am stunned.

I mean, Coop is great.

But THIS is extra!

 

This Boy

This kid, though!

Daddy gave him a big boy haircut.

He looks way too grown up.

Yes, there is a waffle, "mac," whipped cream, and milk in a bottle.

You don't see the fruit snacks and pop tart.

When at Papa & Gigi's, you get what you want!!

He talks in the third person - hilarious.

He says some bad words very appropriately - not hilarious, but so hard not to laugh.

He sprayed water ALL OVER the kitchen and himself whilst "doing dishes."

Uncle Cooper told him no more.

Hudson: 

"Oh, dammit. Ah, dammit. Oh, dammit."

All whilst looking down and shaking his head.

I finally got out of me, "Hudson, that's a bad word."

I'm pretty sure his Smith-like selective hearing did not hear a word I said.

He loves nerf guns (thanks Uncle Ryker), trucks (thanks Uncle Cooper), tools (thanks Uncle Porter), "cooking," "doing laundry," and the park.
