Dog Days

The 2 - 3 nights a week that the boys aren't home, we have to open Cooper's bedroom door.
This is why.

The doggos miss their humans and cry until we let them go in and sleep on his bed.
Seriously.

The Weekend

Ryker, and his Cool Shots team, played their last game of the season.
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't thrilled!
Basketball is my least favorite sport, for sure.
Lots of reasons...
One of them is that most of the time, ALL fans sit together.
Parents are dumb dumbs and say really dumb dumb things...
In fact, they're bullies.
I hate it.
And, basketball is just not my thing.
Ryker loves it.
He mostly loves being with his friends.
I love his friends.
So, I support all of it.

Of course, these two watched it all together.
Best buddies forever.
And ever.

I got to hang out with Hudson Saturday!
His mommy and daddy went to Uncle Jackson and Aunt Isis's house.
I'm really proud of my kids.
They do their best to have a hangout session once a month.
Hudson is less than awesomely behaved at their house for some reason, so Gigi's house it is!!!

He did NOT take a nap.
Not even a wink.
He was so happy and such a good boy.
He even went with me to get my nails done.
I put him in my front carrier to keep him tied to me!
The ladies there love him.
He laughs and jabbers and tries to grab at everything.
I thanked him for letting Gigi get her nails done!

Sunday, Miss Aria came over with Uncle Bubba and Aunt Suzanne.
She had a girls night with Suzanne.
Nails, masks, facials...
Uncle Bubba brought them both flowers, too.
I am SO grateful for the examples these babies have!

Hendrix came a little later with their mommy and daddy.
Mr. Hendrix is attached to Gigi lately and Gigi is not one bit sad!!
He is eating all the things, jabbering about all the things, giggling about all the things.
Such a sweet boy!

Always There

I captured these moments in time last night.
Burke doing what he does.
Dadding.

It doesn't matter what the boys (and girls) are doing, he is always there.
Teaching.
Directing.
Supporting.
Spending time.
With all of them.

He will never not be there for them.
They are the luckiest.

Snow Ready for Spring

This is the view from my office window this morning.
Snow.
HUGE flakes of snow.
It is beautiful, but I am not a winter girl.
I'm not a snow girl.
I am SO ready for Spring!!!

And, can you get enough of this little Squish?!?!
This is at his nine month checkup on Tuesday.
I LOVE how he folds his arms... so patiently waiting.
Such a gentleman!

STOPPPP!!!

Yesterday was the second day in a row that I came home to an eaten children's book in the front room.
I yelled.
Then I locked the dogs outside whilst taking a time out.
And vacuuming.
Again.

I don't even know where they are getting these from!!!

Call Brax

On Thursday night (the night after we returned home from Mexico...),
Ryker came upstairs prior to Burke being home and informed me that water was coming out from the top of the water heater.

Let me preface this by saying that I have this little detachment thing I do when things seem not awesome - if I don't go down and look at it, it's probably not happening in my world!!!
Ryker had already called Dad and Dad asked me to call Brax.
Brax is a plumber (thank goodness).

I called Brax.
He said he was in Kaysville and would be right there (to our house).

He announced that it was a goner.
Like, busted busted.
Like, he needed to go get us a new one (and it wasn't early in the day) and get it installed.
So that's what he did.

Mia and Hudson came to bring him some tools.
I was not mad about that!
I missed my Squish!!!!

SO grateful that the boys are into trades!
Jack is a roofer and Brax is a plumber.
Porter is doing welding and mechanics.
It all helps SO much!!

And, we had hot water within two hours!!!

Why Five Big Sleeps is Enough

Mexico was beautiful.
Relaxing.
Warm.
Sunny.
Guacamole and ice cream and my lover for days!
Such good company and fun time!

But home is where my whole heart is!
The kids, the grand kids, all the people!

Our water heater exploded on Thursday night.
Braxton came over to replace it.
Thank goodness for a plumber in the family!
Mia and Hudson came over and Huds was mostly excited to see Uncle Cooper, per usual.

I had him Friday night, too.
Such a cheeser!

He even worked with him for a little bit.

And Sunday, too.
I need to clean the dang mirror in our bedroom.

These two...

Aria and Hendrix came to cuddle, too, on Sunday.
And Aria needed all the Gigi cuddles.

These two are two months apart.
Hudson is gynormous next to Hendrix!

Hudson has become WELL aware of his people.
There's about five of them!
Daddy
Mommy
Papa
Gigi
Uncle Cooper

Everyone got so sleepy!

Isis sent me these picture of Delilah.
Can you get enough?!

And then there's this one.
Ryker was attached to me like a magnet Saturday.
He didn't even start his homework packet for the week we were gone.
His scores on everything were below 20%.
I asked him if he had a rough week while we were gone,
"Yeah," but we all did.
And then I hate that we were gone for a week.

Thank you, Mexico, for being beautiful.
Sunny. Warm. Fun. Relaxing.
Thank you, God, that we have a beautiful home and family waiting for us back here.
