Baseball League #2 & Bubbles

Ryker's Bountiful League started last night.
They played their first game there.
There really isn't a bad place for a baseball game in the world, if you asked me.
We live in a gorgeous place.
But the heater was out and warming me up!
It's freezing.
Also, I have a crush on the scorekeeper.

Fun fact about Ryker:
He wears the brim of his hats and helmets so low on his face that I have no idea how he sees anything!
Another fun fact:
I learned last night that I need to be more obvious in making my presence known.
He didn't think I was there for the whole game and he was upset.
I told him I absolutely was... just ask all the people sitting near me!

After another long day/night, I announced I was going to have alone time.
When I got into the bathroom, Burke had gone and bought me more bath powder.
I was SOOOO grateful!
I love this stuff and a long soak was just what I needed!

I'm Done.

This is me this morning.

That was not me for the last couple of days.
This mama is tired.
I am SO grateful that I am aware of myself, my emotions, my feelings, me.
That doesn't mean that sometimes I don't need a really good cry to release some of those emotions.
So, I did.
After I fed everyone dinner last night, I climbed into my bed.
Burke just stood there and hugged me.
And I wept.

It's still a crazy-busy day at work.
There are still six more sports events this week.
I still won't get a half day today.
My check engine light is still on.
It's still only 40 freaking degrees outside.

But I'm better.

And these are the doggos.
Basically telling Daddy not to go to work!

Track Meet #2

I worked from the stands of Clearfield High School yesterday while Cooper participated in his three events:
100 Meter Dash
4X200 Relay
High Jump

He did great in all of his events.
I was also able to Facetime with Kaydon.
And feed Coop & his friends snacks (I'll be packing more for next week!)
I'm starting to not hate this track season thing.
It's fun to see the same kids that he plays football, basketball, and baseball with; and the siblings of Ryker's teammates, too!

April Family Dinner

We had our monthly family dinner yesterday.
It was a beautiful day and I love having family together at least once a month.
It is SO hard to make that happen.
With Kaydon on his mission, it hasn't yet happened.
I can't wait!!

We did pulled pork sandwiches.
I had some Easter baskets ready for the girlies.
I filled them with things that could be done outside!
Bubbles, sidewalk chalk, sunglasses, and paint.

Peek Papa's toenails!
That color was chosen by Kehlani.
These girls have Papa wrapped around their little fingers!

The boys played basketball.
Cooper and Ryker doing anything and all things with Bubba!
The next door neighbor, Colton, loved having them in his driveway to play!

Isis sent me a picture from Pinterest with a craft idea for the babes.
I modified it just a little bit.
Lots of hands with fingernails that they could paint and decorate.
Nail polish from the dollar store, glitter pens from the dollar store, flower pens from - you guessed it - the dollar store!!

There are times - a lot of times - where Kehlani will not let anyone but Papa help her.
She is so independent and I LOVE that about her!

She is also the most amazing cheerleader.
She's was cheering Aria on while Aria was practicing her cartwheels!!
Love these two.
Only one more monthly family dinner before we have two more and then one more after that for another one!

Baseball Season Begins

Ryker's baseball season finally began last night with a double header.
A very, very cold double header.
Most of the cities around us have had to put off the beginning of baseball season this year due to the freezing temperatures and constant snow.
It was snowing most of yesterday morning, so I thought for sure it would be canceled again.
Then the sun came out.
And baseball was on!

Ryker plays baseball with most of the same kids he plays football and basketball with.
The kids are a close-knit group of boys.
The parents have a lot of fun together, too.

You know that sitting at the ballpark is my happy place.
Burke is always thinking of me and the kids and everyone else!
He brought all of the portable heaters for me.
Camping chairs.
And a grill with all of the food to grill hot dogs for the boys in between games.

Track

Yesterday was the first track meet of the year...
Actually, of ever for our family.
Now, let's be honest.
I can go toe-to-toe with anyone when it comes to discussing baseball, football, and MMA.
I am clueless when it comes to Track.
AND, I will never understand why anyone would choose to run... for fun.
WHY?!?!

Cooper told us a few months ago he was going to go out for the junior high track team.
I thought nothing of it.
I mean, he and Ryker are in football, baseball, and basketball... along with speed and agility.
So I just thought, yeah why not add more?

I also figured that a track meet was like one hour long.
I packed him one bottle of water with one Liquid IV pack with snacks...
First of all, they last four to five hours.
LONGER than a baseball or football game with zero action, People!
Second, he clearly needs at least three water bottles all with Liquid IV.
Third, he needs a really good breakfast and he HAS to eat lunch at school (which he never does) and I need to pack better snacks.
Fourth, apparently it's fine that kids line up "in front" of each other for races because when they turn the corner they are all evened up again or something. I thought for sure they were giving kids an advantage but I was incorrect.
Fifth, you want  to have Kehlani as your cheerleader.
"GOOOOOO Coopa! Get some!!!!!!!!"

Get some????
Where did she get that from?!

Isis ran Track in high school.
Sweet Girl, WHYYYY???
They are so supportive of everyone in our very large, blended family!

Coop ran the 200 meter.
4x200 relay (first place).
4x100 relay (first place).
High Jump.

Lani was very busy cheering and asking Papa for pizzzzzzza.
Oh, and killing ants!

I am SO glad we got him the neon yellow track shoes because I can pick him out of a crowd!
