I was going through my pictures yesterday...
Clearing up room on my computer.
I have several pictures of my grandpa.
They are all at Jackson's farewell.
They are of Grandpa with Jackson, Grandpa with me, and Grandpa just there.
I remember looking over at the kitchen table and seeing Grandpa with Rand.
I wish I had a picture of that because it was so sweet.
Grandpa was part of the administration of the California Raisin Board.
He was always busy, always traveling.
He would bring home goodies from all over the world.
We would get the little figurines.
We would get sweatshirts.
I remember going to his office as a child, eating handfuls of chocolate-covered raisins from the dish on his desk.
His office seemed like a castle to me - big and fancy.
Grandpa is a hugger.
He is a kisser.
He is a lover.
He is nurturing and affectionate.
He will sit and talk to anyone about anything.
Grandpa makes everyone feel special.
Everyone.
Grandpa loves his great grandsons.
So much.
He always jokes about having great grandsons who are taller than him.
His white hair is so much a part of his character.
Seeing my grandpa always brings me comfort.
Always.
His hugs and kisses always make me feel loved.
When my parents divorced, and my dad remarried, I remember vividly my grandpa always going to my dad and his wife hugging and kissing both of them.
My dad still calls my grandpa "Dad."
Grandpa always approaches Mom (my dad's wife) with a hug and a kiss.
He is unconditionally loving.
He is smart.
He is hardworking.
SO hardworking.
He is a reader.
He is the kindest man.
I am so lucky to have him.
