Cooper is 14!!

Coop actually turns 14 tomorrow, but I don't blog on the weekends, so...

This boys is tall, smart, funny, and endlessly kind.
He is such a good brother to Ryker and he is the best uncle to the girls!!
He is my shadow almost all the time.
He lays in bed with me and talks and talks.
He has started wanting to go to the gym with me on the days that he doesn't have sports, lifting, or speed and agility (so basically, Sundays!)
He is selfless and loving.

He's very, very good at sports.
He starts track next week.
He finished basketball next week.
He starts lifting for football next week.
We'll see what he decides about baseball in the Spring.

One more thing -
Coop always makes sure that I get to see the sunrise and sunset.
He sends me pictures all the time!!

Happy Birthday, Boo!!!

All-Star Game 2023

Burke was given two tickets to the NBA All-Star Game.
He and Coop went for Coop's birthday.
This kid had the time of his life.
The game was a whole experience!!!
I was so grateful for the fun that he had, the memories he made, the pictures and video he took, the texts he sent me throughout...
I'm so grateful he got one-on-one time with his dad.
It was fun to watch on tv, too!

Missionary Moment - Puerto Rico San Juan and Dominican Republic Santo Domingo West

We've made it to San Juan and it has been much different than anything I'm used to from the capital. People here talk different, act different, and hear differently too. Speaking has been just one of my major challenges as they don't speak the same way and it's forcing me to be louder and clearer as the capital is fast and sloppy..

Elder Jackson is my new comp and he's pretty lit and very funny! Every companion on the mission is something to take time to adjust to and so I miss Elder Ramirez quite a bit but we both need to know how to get along with other missionaries and others in general.

Not too much happened this week but today my and Elder Jackson are gonna take a bit of a retreat to a waterfall on our own and it's gonna take the majority of the day so you'll probably see pictures this next week...

Please pray that we can find those who are ready to accept the gospel and ready to do as God asks of them... please pray that Elder Jackson and I can teach as one so we can help our friends according to their needs..!

I love you all and miss you all very much!

Isis is 22!!!

My beautiful daughter is 22!!!
Isis is beautiful... like, STUNNINGLY beautiful.
Isis is realistic, logical, very aware, dedicated, and loyal.
Isis is smart, perceptive, nurturing, and kind.
Isis is fiercely loving of her husband (my Bubba), Kehlani, and Baby Girl.
She is the most amazing sister to her sisters and brothers (my boys).
Isis is amazing and I'm blessed to be her ma.

We celebrated February birthdays (Isis & Cooper) by going to a family Birthday Breakfast at our Chris's Cafe.
These two bits of perfection have my whole heart.

Braxton and Mia were out of town.
Kaydon is killing it in the Dominican Republic,
Burke was taking the picture!

Isis needed a break on Saturday.
I LOVE when Isis needs a break because I get Gigi time!
Little Miss is such a big helper!
She "got dis" vacuuming at Papa's.

We played at the gym and played at the mall.
We went to Cooper's basketball game.
She is so busy, so smart, and so fun.

Happy birthday, my Isis.
Thank you for blessing our family and for giving me beautiful grandbabies!!!

Single Digits

I made a little countdown for our Mexico trip once we got to within a decent amount of time.
In reality, I've been counting down for at least four months.

I will be packing this weekend... just because I can!
Burke bought me like seven swimsuits and some coverups.
He also bought us new luggage.
I got myself a handy dandy fanny pack that I CANNOT wait to wear!!!!

We were talking to his Braxton, who bought into the trip and is bringing his darling girlfriend, Suzanne.
I was asking them if they plan to do any excursions.
I then told them that they can find me on the beach or by the resort pool at all times!
I also told Burke that I want to see the sun rise and set every day.
Besides that, get me a pina colada and sit me in the cabana!!!!

Mama Has An Owie

This wrist of mine is wrecked.
It started hurting last Friday, but by Saturday I couldn't use it.
At all.
I went to a "doctor" on Saturday, who never touched my wrist but who alluded to me having a slipped disc in my neck.
I laughed out loud and told him that was not the case and that I would be going somewhere else.

I haven't slept since Saturday night.
Burke is freaking amazing.
It takes a village to get me ready and unready for the day!!

Turns out it is a severely sprained wrist and that the ligament that goes from my wrist to about half way up my forearm is wrecked.

Brace/tape for at least two weeks.
Note: I'll be in Mexico in less than two weeks and I have no time for a weird tan line!!!!

In the meantime, the pain is unbearable at times.
Sleeping sucks.
I'm grumpy approximately all the dang time.
I'm a wee bit triggered because it's my left side.
I don't like not being 100% independent.
I don't like this amount of pain.
I type for approximately nine straight hours at work.
That sucks.
At least my nails are cute.

Missionary Moment - Puerto Rico San Juan & Dominican Republic Santo Domingo West

 Good morning all!

Lots happened this week so I'll get us started off..

First the temple trip we had, we went Thursday super early and our session was set to start at 9 o clock but little did we know that our session included a few general authorities including Brad Wilcox, The Caribbean area president and both his counselors and some other seventy that was the 1st councelor in something.. I definitely shook Brad Wilcoxs' hand like 3 times... very proud.

But this week was mostly packed of planning and preparing for our baptism on Saturday but unfortunately after getting everything planned we get a text early Saturday morning saying that a family member of the family that was supposed to get baptized in a few hours had died.. it is extremely safe to say that in that moment so did I.

Yesenia and Yeisi were found and taught when I first got here to Hato Nuevo and I've been helping, teaching, and preparing them ever since now 6 months later I'm going to miss her baptism because I can't be here next week... yeah you read right I'm leaving to another area and some other Elder will see their baptism ðŸ˜‘

As for me I'm off to an area called San Juan to be Zone Leader with Elder Jackson, a missionary I already know because he was my zone leader here in this zone for a couple transfers so I'm pretty excited to be with him!

That's about it for this week... being in one area for 6 months makes you kinda miss home a little more because of how used to things you become so I'm excited for this change to get me refocused and back to work. I'm ready for what's been prepared for me by the Lord in San Juan.

I love you all!! Be safe and be happy!

Superbowl Sunday

Super Bowl Sunday was epic.
ALL of the kids were there, except my Kaydon of course.
This made my mama and gigi heart so full.
Even the dogs posed for the picture!!!

I have been one-handed for a few days and so I relied heavily on Burke and the boys to help me.
Note: I DO NOT like help.
I want to do it all and just enjoy watching everyone else relax.
It just wasn't possible this past weekend.
Burke cleaned, got food ready, cleaned some more, entertained... and took care of me.

Menu:
Sliders
Chips & Dip
Crackers & Cheese Ball
Cookies
Popcorn
Caramel/White Chocolate Apples
Donuts

It was a great game and most of the family was happy with the outcome!!!
Next year, there will be five grandbabies in this picture!!!

Colton Update

My Colton.
He has grown so much.
He is doing so well.
He works at Home Depot and has received raise after raise!
He lives with Jackson and Isis and pays rent and does all of the big kid stuff!
He is working to get his driver's license still.
Hopefully soon!!!

He is still going to the gym daily.
He has completely transformed his body and his confidence is elevated to new heights.
Most of his friends are on missions, which has been hard on him.
He desperately misses Kaydon.
He cannot wait for Colton to come home!!

I am so grateful to be his mom.

Elder Kaydon Update

Kaydon is going strong in the Dominican Republic Santo Domingo West Mission.
He extended, and doesn't plan to be home until December.
Kaydon made a decision that it would be easier for him not to call home every week.
So, I haven't seen this boy's face or heard his voice in a few weeks.
I miss it, but I totally honor what is best for him.
But I miss it A LOT!!!

Kaydon is all-in on whatever it is he does.
He is a very black and white boy.
He is obedient to a tee!
He is hard-working, dedicated, loyal, and diligent.
He wants everyone to be the same.

I miss him and can't wait to see him and hug him!

This picture of my boy and I popped up on my memories today.
These pictures make my mama heart so happy!

Braxton & Mia Update

Braxton & Mia.
Braxton and Mia are living in Brigham City. They've been up there for about a year and are moving into a new apartment this month.
Braxton works for a plumbing company. He's been with them for a few years now and is so good at what he does!
Mia is a vet tech at an Ogden Veterinary Clinic. She's an animal lover!

They have two cats.
I have tried to spell their names in the past and it wasn't successful.
So, here's pictures.

They are due with a baby BOY in June.
This baby and his little cousin are due to come about a week or two apart.
They haven't picked a name.
They can't agree on any of them!!

I am so excited to see these two as parents.
And, another little boy to love!!!
