Crappy

First of all, I've not been well for approximately a week and a half.
My brain has not been functioning well AT ALL...
Like, I haven't been able to walk on my own power.
It's been so frustrating.
Burke has ordered all the things and I'm now on magnesium, potassium, calcium all within a yummy hydration packet that I have three of a day.

Then I got what appeared to be a terrible, terrible cold.
Awesome.
Not awesome.

THEN, I had to prepare for a colonoscopy.
Listen, Friends.
I LOVE pooping.
It's probably one of my top five favorite things to do.
However, starving is not my thing.
I did not eat solid food for approximately 36 hours and I was not in a good place!
I was on the shitter non-stop.
Basically pooing out of a straw like a fire hose.
The guy on the phone told me not to shave my anus.
Okay!
I was not scheduled at the hospital until 2:30 IN THE AFTERNOON.
I was not happy.

Burke got me there at 2:30.
Into the beautiful gown I went.
Under the heated blankets I went.
IV time... never in my life has this gone well.
EVER.
So, I started to prep my own darn arms with heat and smacking myself.
Off to the room we went.
I had a couple of fun conversations with the doctors and the medicine man.
Nighty night I went.
Wakey wakey I went.

It was SO easy!
The nap was legit.
Burke rushed us home.
I was a talkative chatty catty!
He got me inside and on the couch, grabbed Ryker and took him to his scrimmage.
Cooper got home from school and made me dinner.
Cheese quesadilla with guacamole and ice cream!!!!!
He just put the spoon in the ice cream like the bestest boy ever!
Then he laid with me and watched football!!

And this cutie patootie got his helmet!!
His mama says he isn't the happiest.

The Weekend

I've been a blankety blank mess as of late.
My brain has struggled mightily.
Now I seem to have a very bad, no good, really awful cold.
But this brain of mine...
I made it to Ryker's football game Saturday morning.
He was captain and played great.
The most important thing was that he knows I was there.
It was such a beautiful day.
The game was in West Point, where the boys and I lived for a few years.
I love West Point.

When Burke got home from work on Saturday, he got me on the motorcycle and took me for a ride.
It was so nice.
The motorcycle is my happy place.
I feel free and at peace.
He took me to Roadhouse where Ash was working and I got some food in me.
Then we rode home with the sun setting.

Sunday morning, he took me for a walk.
As long as I'm holding on to him, I was fine.
Ish.

We cancelled Family Dinner on Sunday because of my health.
Rian and her family still came up to visit.
Hendrix is starting to show his little personality.
Between his facial expressions and his red hair, he's a cutie!

Aria was bummed that uncles weren't there.
They spent some time with their mom because her parents were in town and that's so important!

So the boys went to Antelope Island with their grandparents, Megan & Ben & Ben's girls.
They sent me pictures.
I love that and I love them.

Missionary Moment - Puerto Rico San Juan & Dominican Republic Santo Domingo West

My card doesn't work so I haven't had money for about 3 weeks. One of the other Elders is a beast and has been keeping me alive.

Hey everyone!!

I hope you're all well!

We got calls awhile ago and I got news that my Dominican companion was out along with another Elder that we lived with.

Transfers were done on Friday so I had gone to the city of Barahona with the other American that was keeping me alive and we were asked to stay at a house with only 2 beds and so we kinda just went up to the roof and layer down on nothing. It really wasn't that bad as we didn't actually sleep.. we watching the clouds and stars and soon a tropical storm that came in from the east that had just barely missed us. But for hours we watched the sky light up with lighting and the building shake with the power of the thunder..

we stayed on the roof for this entire time

At about 2:30 we starting sleeping until 4:30 where we got up to go 4 hours to the capital.

There I recieved my companion who I'll be training! His name is Helquist and he's such a beast! I've never trained before I've only ever gotten Elders right after their training but I'm enjoying it so far.. the homie is from New Hampshire but moved to Provo Utah when he was 11 because his grandma had cancer. He's been there ever since until I received him here... his grandma survived btw

The Wednesday before we left I got a little sick but after I slept 2 hours hours on a roof it got a little worse and it's been gradually worsening until now.. I do however feel better now and should be on top of everything on Wednesday.

Work here in this area is kinda hard.. it's just harder than other areas I've had but I'm learning lots and my companions lit so all good things around here...

Love yall!

Sweet Babes

This one is being casted for his helmet today.
He's going to be the cutest little helmet-wearing Squish that ever there was!
He and his mommy and daddy stopped by late last night at Ryker's football practice.
They drove down to pick up their car.
Burke had a recall taken care of to make it much safer to drive with our grandbaby in it.
He also filled it with gas and deep cleaned it.
Because that's what Papa's do.
Kissing Hudson's cheeks is one of my favorite things.
His spinal cord ultrasound came back good.
He is now scheduled for a sedated MRI.

As Jackson and Isis prepare to move, they are tired and busy with packing.
Isis brought these beauties over so she could have a couple of hours.
They came prepared to cheer on Uncle Ryker at football practice!!
Kehlani is SO social.
She loves to play with the little sisters of Ryker's teammates.
They are so sweet with her!

Kehlani asked Papa to make her a "sprinkle sandwich."
It entailed peanut butter, strawberry jelly and SPRINKLES!!!!
She ate the whole thing and loved it!

This is the only moment when Gigi had Sweet Delilah that she was happy.
She had a belly ache and Gigi just wasn't cutting it.
Thankfully, Burke was home (and at the football practice).
He was the only one that could soothe her.
It broke my heart.
Like, literally broke my heart.

I was so grateful he was there and she was comforted by him.
I just felt so bad that I couldn't help her.
