Goal Accomplished!

The boys worked so hard saving their money for the trampoline. Braxton mowed lawns. The boys collected all of their loose change and saved their allowance. It came! We got it put together yesterday. When I say "we," you'll see that "I" actually mostly supervised... So what?!?!

Summer-time calendars

What does a working, single mom of four boys do during summer break? Make a calendar. This calendar includes what they will eat for lunch and what activity they will be doing for the day. Yesterday (day one of this calendar thing) did NOT go according to plan. They were supposed to leave for the library at 1:30, to be there for a movie at 2:00. Don't worry, they were on time! They went at 10:20!!!! So, they had no lunch, they were at the library for five hours, they were warned that they would be kicked out... You get the picture! I wanted to pull my hair out when I got home. I told them that I REALLY need them to follow the calendar so that we can all live this summer... Pray for me!

My Birthday Weekend

Spoiled stinkin' rotten! Michelle and the folks at work made me feel so special! Cupcakes, Baby Jackson bringing me a Leatherbys banana split, a new back warmer and a lot of extra strong bubble wrap to sleep on... don't ask!

Party at my dad's and stepmom's house. Cake and KFC.

A pedicure with the Nana!

A party with the Nana!

It was a great weekend! Nana cleaned our living space for me and did all of our laundry. The quorum sang and sang to me! It was fantastic!

Popsicle Night

Last night was popsicle night in our neighborhood. The boys and I walked the ward in search of popsicles. Crazy how my boys found treats at each house! Weird! Really, though, it's such a fun tradition that our neighborhood/ward has! And, it wears out the quorum... and their mom!

Last day of school

Today is the last day of school for the quorum. Yahoo! We made it! NO suspensions. NO elongated principal office visits. NO fights about going to school in the morning. NO children having to repeat their current grade. SUCCESS!!!
My kids had the best teachers this year... so a shout-out to:
Mrs. Pederson, Mrs. Swinyard, Mrs. Miyake and Mrs. Hatton.

Winners and Losers

Saturday, the Quorum ran in a race at Murray Park with Papa, Grandma and cousins. Kaydon took third place and won a medal. Braxton came in fourth place, and didn't get a medal, so Kaydon let him wear his. So nice!

Sunday, however, apparently the love was over. At approximately 8:00 a.m., I was laying in bed with strep throat, that has now lasted approximately 5 days, when Colton handed me the phone. It was a 911 dispatcher. Awesome. I informed her that I was in bed with strep throat when she told me that Kaydon had called 911. I informed her that I was speaking of my own free will. I told her that I would take care of my children. We hung up and I laid there wondering what had just happened, when Braxton came downstairs and informed that the officer was at our door. Awesome. Kaydon had told Braxton that if he didn't stop picking on him, he would call the cops. He surely did do that!!!! When the officer told Kaydon that he needs to talk to his mommy about these things, Kaydon informed the officer that his mommy didn't feel good and so he didn't want to bother her. Awesome. The officer then calmly told the boys WHY we call 911 and when to tell their mommy that their is a problem. Kaydon asked the officer politely if he could please take Braxton to jail. The officer declined. Awesome. The officer then talked to them about the importance of getting along. That's when I started to laugh, out loud. Awesome.

Braxton was barfing yesterday, and so he stayed home and had to watch the fun field day at the school from the comfort of the family room couch. I felt bad for him. He laid on my lap while we watched utterly disturbing cartoons...

Today at lunch, I yelled at a short, fat man who was stealing food from the salad bar at the student center. I began screaming at him about how disgusting he was and then exited the building. Awesome!!!

What musical instruments do your kids play?

Piano? Guitar? Violin?
My kids... they play scavenged furniture from neighbors front yards, accompanied by random sticks and/or other scavenged items from neighbors front yards! Use your resources!!
