California Loving Day 3

Monday was all about relaxing for me while the boys began their four days of Disney!
I slept in so late that I missed the continental breakfast.
I went for a beautiful walk, then colored poolside the rest of the day.
The boys took over the hot tub when they got back!

California Loving Day 2

Sunday started by the pool, of course.
Workout, continental breakfast, scripture reading.
The boys played games and swam.
We headed to Newport early afternoon.
Gorgeous.
The pier.
The boardwalk.
The beach.
Stunning.
This is Heaven.

California Loving Day One

We arrived in Anaheim around 1 pm, local time.
I unpacked and went right to the pool!
It was 95 degrees!
Jackson and Dylan chilled.
Kaydon and Colton went to the grocery store then came and swam.
The boys all walked to Downtown Disney for dinner while I relaxed!!

Come Follow Me - Week of October 18th

Our family's Come Follow Me for this week is all about relying on the Savior during trials.
It is not true that God will not give us more than we can handle.
Heavenly Father absolutely DOES give us more than we can handle so that we will learn to rely on Him, to lean on Him, and to allow Him to help us carry our load.

As long as we rely on Him, and recognize that the Savior has ALREADY carried our burdens, our trials will seem less.
We will be able to carry our loads with more hope, peace, and patience.

Occupation Goal

I discovered my occupation/career goal!
Beam of Light.

Becky Beck told me about a faucet.
Think of a drinking fountain in the hallway of your crowded high school.
We push a button and water flows out - with a bit of it getting into our bodies.
That faucet is connected to a water source.
Without the water source, pushing the button would render no results.
Our thirst would not be quenched.

Now, think of our souls.
The water source is our Savior.
I have the ability to be the fountain - taking His message of love and healing and grace and joy and stillness to everyone who seeks it.

When I grow up, I want to be a beam of light.

Who Am I?

Mama had a tough night.
My babes were born within four years of each other.
When Colton was four months old, we left.
Although there have been "relationships" over the last 18 years, it's been my boys and I since they were born.

They are men now.
Jackson moved out when he went on his mission.
He now lives in Sandy and works as a project manager.
Braxton moved out two months ago.
He lives in Brigham City and is a plumbing apprentice.
Kaydon leaves November 1st, and packed up the rest of his stuff last night before he and Colton headed to Sandy for a sleep over with Big Brother.

Last night, I made muffins and cried.
Gus came into my room and cuddled with me for a couple of hours while I talked to God and meditated.
I simply told Heavenly Father that I'm not sure who I am without my boys...
He reminded me with a few tender mercies that I am His.
I am still a mama.
I told Him that I feel like I've just started being my very best self, and the very best mom.
He reminded me with a very sacred experience that I have eternity to continue to be the very best mom.

And with that, I closed my eyes and rose again today to do this thing we call life!

Mommy is Excited!

"Mommy is getting really excited, Guys!"
Kaydon, "It's about time!"
Colton, "Yeah, Mommy, because we've already paid for everything!"

The boys have been planning a boys' trip to California for a while.
Things fell through for Braxton and he isn't able to go.
So, they invited their ma to go with them - all expenses paid.

I am really, very excited.
I just wish that our Brax was coming!!!!!
