Papa Mitch

Meet Mitch.
Mitch is my sister, Cyd's, dad.
Mitch lives in our old ward and is very close with a couple of families in that neighborhood, including the Leavitts.
Cyd's mama passed away a couple of years ago and Mitch misses his bride so much.
Mitch is retired.
Everyday, Mitch does woodworking.
I am slightly obsessed with Mitch's garage/wood shop.
He has so many beautiful pieces of wood.
They might look ordinary to those of us who know nothing about wood, but the creations he makes are absolutely extra-ordinary.

I have two pieces of wonder in my new home.
Both of them are holding plants.
Cyd's hubby, Arlin, helped to make them.
They are amazing.

A couple of weeks ago, I told Cyd that I was trying to gather the courage to ask Papa Mitch if he would make me a stool for my vanity.
The current stool is not made for real people.
It's more made for small children and, although I am grateful for it, I really wanted something that was made by Papa Mitch.

She sent me this picture over the weekend.
She also sent me a picture of it upside down.
She is hiding the top of it from me.
I am going to tomorrow to make sure it is the perfect size, and I have no doubt I will be crying tears of gratitude and joy when I see it in person.

I cannot wait!
