Missionary Moment - Puerto Rico San Juan & Dominican Republic Santo Domingo West

Hello everybody! Like always, I look forward to seeing how you all are! This week for sure had its ups and downs! Quite honestly I wouldn't have it any other way, otherwise there would be no growth.

Much of my week was a combination of things we could've done better and many things that invited the spirit into our presence and testified, even changed those we are teaching showing improvement in many aspects of our friends lives. However, there is much more work to be done.

As Elder Knight gets more accustomed to the area, he brings something new that has been needed including things that would steer them toward the blessings that will be received as they continue to come unto Christ.

Many instances consist of going into a lesson not knowing what to say or do as I had no idea how o help them behind where they were based on specific circumstances but as we go and talk to each of our friends we encounter something that was unknown before that could now be used to help them progress. An example of this is one of our friends named Jorgelin. Me and Elder Townsend had been talking to him for about a month maybe more and always say a situation of him, his partner Elizabeth whose studying into the testigos of Jehova, and their one infant child. However we discovered after many weeks of no progression that we needed to give Elizabeth more attention to see what her needs were and also find out that they had another 5 year old child that was kept from us because she'd been born with many deformities including special needs.

After blessing the daughter with her parents permission and focusing our efforts on Elizabeth, we left with Elizabeth telling us with no warning that even if Jorgelin does not come to church due to work that she would. What a difference! Such change and willingness to come unto Christ and accept his gospel is not easy but such blessings can be manifest as we allow new things, more importantly things that our Heavenly Father wants for us into our lives, we can become like him, and help others do the same.

I testify and am a witness of the love and help that Jesus Christ gives and has for his people. He loves you. He misses you. He wants you to come home to the presence of our Heavenly Parents. As President Russell M. Nelson says, "what I ask isn't easy", but if we are to return and live with our families forever we need to start today to make changes in our lives to live in accordance with the will of the one who loves you most.

I love you all, miss you tons and pray for you all.

Elder Jorgensen
