Longer

Update on Project Ma Growing Her Hair Out:
My boys, as you might know, have always wanted me to have long hair.
My hair is just not made to be long.
It's not super healthy.
When longer, it doesn't look luxurious.
It's kinda crappy.

But, here I am.
Growing my hair out again.

The guys at work always ask, "Are WE growing our hair out??"
Me: "Yes, I am growing MY hair out. It's a me job, Guys."

The Important Stuff

This was our family chat on Monday when Kaydon called.
Jackson and Braxton were at work.
Colton was at the gym.
Mom had just left the gym.
Kaydon was in a very warm apartment with no electricity and no water in the Dominican Republic.
But... we were all together.
I will repeat with vigor - I could not have done the whole sending my children on missions and hoping to get a letter now and then gig.
If I couldn't see his face and hear his voice weekly, I'd choose Catholicism or Baptistism or something ism that didn't include sending my children to third world countries and not being able to see them and talk to them.
Lack faith much, Heidi?
It looks as though that's the case!
These boys are my everything.
I am so grateful for their experiences and trials and hurdles and their joys and victories!
I especially love hearing them talk things through with each other and lifting each other up when things are hard.
Kaydon's mission has been HARD on him.
He lacks joy on most days.
But, he's pressing forward.

This little magical bit of joy is B's granddaughter.
She's pretty much full of joy.
And Papa spoils her rotten.
And she knows that.
And she gives the best hugs!

This little bit of magic is staying with Gigi this weekend because Gigi needs Kehlani time.
Papa will spoil her, too.
That's just what he does.

Pancakes for Perry

We did pancakes for P this morning.
As always, I am so grateful for Beyta and Mr. Watkins who basically do whatever I ask.
They cooked them.
X-man made sure a couple of tables were set up.
We ate and watched the sun come up - all together.
Five years is a dang long time, but really no time at all.
I still miss him every dang day.

Missionary Moment - Puerto Rico San Juan & Dominican Republic Santiago West

I love it here.

What's up everybody! I hope you all had a great week and got lots of things done that we're meanfully or fulfilling to you!

This week was pretty uneventful for us but with all of my complaints I promise I looked for a blessing, and guess what.. THERE WAS A BLESSING!

No water. Yeah I'm been living without water for about 7-8 weeks now.

 Kinda sucks

But the truth us we are smart enough to fill everything we the lady down stairs turns on the pump and we just buy drinking water off the street so that truth really comes to we never have "flowing" water... bucket showers let's go!

No electricity.

 Yeah... no

So really the only thing we need power for is to see at night, use a microwave, keep the fridge running, change the phone, and keep the fan on... shoot

But thankfully our neighbors are g's and gave us a Dominican outlet to keep our fridge alive and keep a fan going during the day and phone charged at night.

The only nightmare is that we don't have a fan at night but we have also been blessed with a window that heavenly father has been blowing through to keep the temperature down.

 And no baptism.

Marcalle is still having issues keeping his teeth in with all his cigarettes.. I will however say that he has been an addict for 6 years and for him to be smoking 1 once a week to once every other week is more than anything I can say for myself. Hopefully he can get baptized this next month. I know he can use our prayers.

Still have the flu and still kicking it out here, you can really see results from your week on Sunday, instead of the 0 last week we got about 8 and some of them being new. We also got a baptismal date set for Yajaira so that's lit

It was a long and challenging week! Rip all my boys who finished up last transfer and RIP Tady! He literally got banished to one of the biggest Área in the mission and he'll probably be there for a bit while everybody forgets about him except for me!

Love you dog

I think I also have to include a section about my new companion Elder Debelmar!

He's pretty funny and loves to dance! He's actually very very good at it too! He also is ready to work hard, with about 7 months on a mission he speaks Spanish very well but still struggles with understanding which I completely understand.

Also a quick shout out to my old Neighbor Sister Kershaw!! Hey! We found your cousin and are teaching her in Los Alcorizos! Thankfully the Hermanas are taking care of that. That was a good find on their part!

Miss you all but love you all more!

I Told The Boys You'd Be Mad - Then Cry

The move is basically complete.
Yesterday on his day off, B went to get a couch.
I thought he was getting a new couch for his house and giving me his old couch.
When I got home last night, with he and his three youngest boys with him, I walked into this.
I immediately said, "NO! No. You take this to your house. NO!"
He said, "I knew you'd be mad."
Then I started to cry.
He said, "And I knew you'd cry right after being mad."
Then I looked at his three boys.
They were BEAMING.
I was overcome with gratitude.
Look at this beauty!!!!!!!

I am SO grateful.

I Heart Food

I really like food.
Like, I'm a big fan of food!

Saturday night, B was in charge of deciding what he and I were having for dinner.
He chose a newer restaurant in Layton - Blue Fin.
They serve sushi and it was delicious!!
We chose the Blue Dragon Roll, Surf and Turf Roll ( I thought for sure I would hate it... I did NOT hate it!) and the Shrimp Delight Roll.
We were not disappointed!

Then dessert.
We never get dessert.
This right here is called Cloud Nine.
It is Krispy Kreme donuts, with cheesecake in the holes of the donuts. It is topped with Nutella and Mango Sauce, with some strawberries, blueberries and banana slivers.
It is then surrounded with whipped cream.
Note: NOTHING was left on this plate, People.

We took the three youngest boys, P, C, & R to breakfast at Chris's Cafe.
Chris lives kiddy corner from B.
On the menu on Sunday: Caramel Bread Pudding French Toast.
YOU GUYS!!!!
I told Chris I'm gonna be needing this every time we come and on Christmas morning, please.
Literally the best thing ever!

Camping

Braxton and Mia took Colton camping last weekend.
Their dad also joined them.
I always ask the boys to take pictures of their adventures so that I can document them on the blog.
This weekend, he gets Jackson and Isis time!
I am SO grateful for the bond that my boys have, and that they have with their sisters!

Missionary Moment - Puerto Rico San Juan & Dominican Republic Santo Domingo West

This week was an absolute grind

We had tins if lessons and lots of members work and through it all we just finished out the 6 week transfer (yes, it's been 6 weeks)

This time Elder Tady (Taudy) is out and I'm getting Elder Debelmar who apperently likes to dance and is a little over a year..the more and more I think about the better I feel, even though I have no idea how to help this area or all 35 members here, but the truth is if I don't do this, who will...?

This week was pretty good, up till the weekend where we found a smoking Marcalle..so unfortunately no baptism Saturday but now the pressure is on for him in 2 weeks as he continues to work hard to become a disciple of Jesus Christ. Sunday didn't much help as the perfect storm rolled in and not one single friend of ours came to church. Everybody just seemed to have a plan of their own. So sadly we embarrassly showed up to our small branch with no results. No baptism,  no friends to sit by. Just a weird talk by a hermana in the branch that talked about all music being horrible, even in other languages. Maybe it was for the best that our friends had other plans, I think I'd feel more embarrassed if they saw that..

We're also still totally without a president and no one has any idea what we're going to do about it, even the stake president..shoot this Debelmar guy has really got it going for him! I hope that he lifts the spirits around here!!

Well the truth is we're just gonna keep pushing this week, I'm not too sure what to expect, good or the same, but forward we go..that's kinda all a mission is. Forward with Faith. I think it's more of a willingness to find and show that faith. That's where it grows and flourishes. Sorry I'm such a Debby Downer but ya'll already know I'll be popping off in like a month or two! Maybe when we get a president or something..

Let's do it together! This coming week let's just expect good crap to happen!

BTW shout out to Jackson and Isis! (Again) but they have now been married and sealed together forever in the holy Temple! Dang that's so amazing right?? Families together forever..

Till next time!

These two were sealed for time and for all of eternity on Friday in the Draper, Utah Temple.
I love them both just so much!

Forever & Ever

These two are making covenants tonight.
With each other & with God.
A covenant is simply a two-way or, in this case, a three-way promise.
This promise will allow them to be together for forever and ever.

My Grandma Delilah Mae Asay Wasden Robb was married to James Wasden.
Together, they had three children.
James Wasden was killed in a fire when my Grandma had three babies.
My Grandma then married Walter Simmons Robb, my Grandpa.
Together, they had four children.
My Grandma was sealed to James Wasden.
Because of this, she was not sealed to my Grandpa.
So, what was to happen to the love they shared and to the four children they had?
A conversation took place about this with Priesthood holders.
My Grandma and Grandpa were told that God is a loving Heavenly Father, who knows all things and that they were sure that the entire family - the Wasden/Robb family would be together after this life.

As a child, this actually brought me a lot of comfort.
Now, as I have a grandbaby it brings me comfort again.

I am so grateful and honored to be the mama of these sweet kids and the gigi of this magical grandbaby.

Lazy Sundaze

Sundays are pretty amazing.
They are usually very relaxing and very chill.
I love to go to the gym on Sundays, as you know.
It's rarely occupied by very many other humans - just the way I like it.

This past Sunday, B's daughter and her family came up.
I love this little bit of magic right here.
She and I colored and made crafts.
Then she just wanted to sit on the couch with Papa and I.
OKAY!!!!!

Her mommy broke her elbow a couple of weeks ago, so I did her hair.
She LOVES to practice saying Kehlani's name.
Basically the cutest thing ever!

We watched Sing 2 then went next door and she and her Papa took their turns going down the slip and slide that the neighbors had out front.

Shaving Some Ice

Colton has been working two jobs:
Home Depot & Hokulua Snow Cone Shack.
Today is his last day shaving ice.
I rarely get to see this boy.
He works a lot and when he isn't working, he is with friends.
I picked him up one day last week ( I literally had to beg to pick him up).
He made me a delicious mound of flavored ice.
I am soaking up every minute I get with him!!
