Missionary Moment - Puerto Rico San Juan & Dominican Republic Santo Domingo West

First and foremost. I had no idea what to title this email.

Second.. I'm sorry. I totally sent an email put last week but it's been stuck in my outbox all week because the internet in this house is absolutely horrendous!! That's just been my luck with houses on a mission haha

First I was in a really nice house in puerto rico but then it was just down hill from there with the La Union house that's literally just a dump hill then I got a house every missionary calls the cave.. because it's literally a cave.. dark, cold, no internet, but that house had good water :) but soon after I was in the Hatillo house with absolutely no water for the entirety of my stay which consisted of 12 weeks. And no power for 2 weeks on top of that. Then after that and after Hati Nuevo I came here where the internet doesn't exist and the water comes out super duper dirty... like visibly dirty.. I'm never going to take for granted Homes in the US.... anyway sorry no internet, no email.

This week the rains came down, and the floods came through. In my specific area I came during the dry season but it's been raining so much lately, but no fret because we're still hitting our goals and we still had our baptism this week! 2 of the 3 kids of Manuel and Magdalisa (those that we married and baptized and few weeks ago) we baptized yesterday after church!

This month is going by a little fast.. I still feel that we should be in the beginning of May but here we are in the end. Above cleaner water and just a little less rain there's nothing I would prefer more than if time would go much slower. The mission is so much better that normal life, I literally just help people all day and have absolutely nothing else to worry about. The thing I'm most excited to do when I get back is put all of thus into practice. Last week on Monday I think I watched YouTube videos and scrolled through Facebook for like 3 hours and I've never hated myself more after that haha.. but as soon as we got back home I made a list of daily activities I'm sticking to and I'm giving my self a daily planning every single day! In it, I have daily activities, weekly activities and monthly activities that will keep me organized and live more righteously. Living righteously is always so much better.

I'm going to try to send out the last email and pictures separate.

Love you!!

Elder Jorgensen

Good morning all! We have no power right now.. haha

Its been a good week though

We had transfers and my beloved estranged companion Elder Jackson has now gone back to the capital and I miss him already

Wednesday however was quite the fight as everyone but Elder Greer and I had left early in the morning and we were left without a phone until about 3 o clock so we couldnt leave to teach or anything until Elder Jones came in from the south. 😑

Around 5 o clock my companion comes in from the capital as he had to stay behind to work on his residency to be legal here in the country.

Elder Goldfarbs a beast. He's from San Juan but not this San Juan.. he's from the San Juan Argentina! He's like 6'4" and is the youngest of 2 other sisters. Homie is obviously latino so he speaks his Spanish but with his accent its so very hard for me to understand what he says... especially if it catches me off guard or its out of nowhere.

I read a little more about the Book of Mormon.

I know it's true.

Just so everybody understands, the book isn't the Bible of the Mormons, nor is it a replacement of the holy Bible that includes the old and new testaments of Jesus Christ.

The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and its contents were written by Prophets from the continent of the Americas.

The Prophet Mormon gathered in the writings from these holy men and organized them into a book to testify of Jesus Christ and the Holy Bible... the book was buried and hidden to be kept safe then revealed again by God when the Church was restored. The Prophet of the restoration, Joseph Smith, translated the contents of the Book and now the book also stands as evidence that Joseph really was a Prophet.

I know he was. And I love him. I have read the Book of Mormon now 5 times and I have asked God humbly in prayer if it all really is true. I have received my answer time and time again. And I'm still here. I know the Book of Mormon is true.

Yall ready know
