You Won't Miss It

Cooper (14) walked in the kitchen this morning.

He showed me this picture on his phone.

Coop is amazing at making sure I don't miss the sunrises or sunsets.

He grabs photos of them whenever he can and then texts them to me after showing them to me in person.

I LOVE sunrises and sunsets.

They represent starts and finishes.

They remind us that we get to try again and that we don't ever have to do the same day again.

 

My People

We had family pictures done last Wednesday.

We are missing a few:
Kalynn (please add her in your daily prayers)

And a few of the guys

But, this is a pretty good representation of our group;

So Much Football

Ryker had a morning game on Saturday, which is SO nice!

The days are getting cooler and it makes football games so much more comfortable.

Ryker had quite the cheering squad.

Cooper came (somewhat forced by the parents).

Braxton and Mia drove down.

Hudson is a semi-pro football game goer toer.

But how cute is his onesie?!?!

Sunday, Brax and Mia came back down.

Mia asked if she could make everyone dinner.

It was delicious!

She made cheddar broccoli soup in sourdough bread bowls and the boys homemade macaroni and cheese.

The boys each had three helpings which is a miracle!!

Hudson is starting to revert a bit on his sleeping.

He hasn't slept through the night for the last few nights.

He crashed on his daddy for a couple of hours.

Then Braxton went outside and played catch with Ryker and his neighbor friend.

 

Aria + Hendrix Time

Last night, Rian & Aria & Hendrix joined me at Ryker's football practice.

They came up for Cooper's Sophomore game, but Aria wanted to go with Gigi instead.

So Rian and the baby did, too.

Aria told me all about kindergarten, her teacher, her crush, and practiced her tumbling!

Hendrix ate and ate and burped and spit up and pooped and slept on Gigi.

It was so great to hang out with the oldest and youngest grandbabies!

We had family pictures done on Wednesday.

These are my freaking people.

My people.

P would be so proud!

 

New Job for Porterman

Porterman gave his notice at Walmart a couple of weeks ago.

On Tuesday, he started at the same dealership his dad is at!!!

He is the newest member of Quick Lane at EKF!!!

 

My Bird Friend

I know that this sounds weird to some people and I do not care.

Ever since Perry died, I have felt his presence in birds.

When his sister came to talk to me at work, she told me everything that Perry had asked her to tell me.

One of them was, "I can be with her all the time, no matter where it is."

I really, truly believe that he comes to me in the form of birds.

It's happened so many times.

At games, at work when I'm sitting outside, at the pool with my kids, in Mexico on the beach.

I feel his presence SO clearly.

On Monday morning, I was at work alone for five hours and I was stressed out.

I had talked with Burke Sunday night about how I was feeling and things that I could do, or not do, to keep myself under control at work for the foreseeable future.

At around 11 am, I looked outside my office window.

Here sat a sparrow hawk.

Staring right in my window.

People were walking by him, he didn't move.

I stood up.

I was waving at him.

Talking to him.

He didn't move.

He stayed there for over 30 minutes.

Just looking down at the bushes and back at me.

Looking around my office.

Just stayed there as if to say, "I got you, Sis. You aren't ever alone."

I wished that it was really him and he'd walk in singing, "Heidi Rae is here today!"

But this was the next best thing!

 

Not The Same

Delilah sleeps spread eagle.

Her mommy and daddy no longer swaddle her because she likes to be free!!

Hudson does not sleep spread eagle.

He loves to be all wrapped up and tucked in tight.

He also loves his Uncle Cooper.

They like watching football together and "talking all about it."
