Thursday night, prior to procedure day, my good friend Bret took me for Mexican food.
It just so happened (he actually planned it this way) that there was a concert going on at the same time.
It was all Johnny Cash songs and they made me so happy!
We sat outside on the patio, ate guacamole, and sang to Johnny Cash.
I love Farmington Station!
Friday morning, Kaydon and I headed to the hospital.
Have I mentioned that my kids are freaking amazing??
Surprising to NO ONE, they didn't get the IV in on the first try.
Kaydon turned music on, held my hand and made it pretty clear that getting it in on the second try would be best for everyone.
It worked!
They wheeled me into the operating room.
Told me to have a good nap.
Off I went to dreamland.
When I woke up, Kaydon was getting me to drink Coke Zero through a straw.
I told him I wanted to go home.
So, IV came out and off we went.
They stretched my esophagus 20mm.
There was a little blood in my stomach.. probably from tearing my esophagus whilst trying to swallow food.
So, Kaydon made a follow-up appointment with the doctor for next month.
It's been me in my bed since.
I'm sore.
My stomach is constantly upset.
But, I am not choking anymore!
