Grandma's Birthday Weekend

What an awesome weekend we had!

Papa and Auntie Tiff did such an amazing job planning a big 60th birthday surprise for Grandma in Midway!

Matt, Kaydon, Colton and I arrived around lunch time and the boys were quick to get in the pool.

They swam for 4 1/2 hours while Matt and I laid in the sun. It was exactly what all of us needed!!

The boys played SO hard. 

Unfortunately, they have an irresponsible mother who did not think about sunscreen because half of the pool is indoors and it was like 65 degrees. A couple of hours in, Matt recognized that Colton was struggling and had him start downing water.

We changed and got ready for dinner and the big surprise!

Tiff's cousin made the most incredible cake EVER.

It was so beautiful.

And delicious.

When Mom walked in, we were all seated: Matt, Kaydon, Colton, Dave & Tiff, David, Eden, Uncle Rick, Aunt Jan, Cousin Mark & Sheree. Braxton surprised everyone and showed up five minutes into dinner. 

It was laughter and joy and fun and love!

After dinner, the kiddos wanted to swim MORE.

Our kids were so exhausted!

The grown-ups sat around and talked and laughed. 

Uncle Rick showed us pictures of stars that were pretty neat.

Grandma was in heaven!

We had breakfast as a family yesterday morning, then headed back.

Happy, happy birthday Grandma!

Kaydon Does California!

My Kaydon got home last night from California.

He went there with Papa and Grandma.

He is earning his Eagle Scout. 

Papa and Grandma promised the grandkids that when they earn their Eagle, they will take them to California, more specifically to Disneyland.

Uncle Logan and Uncle Skip met them there for a day or two. 

He had a great time.

He went to the ocean.

He went for a boat ride.

He ate lots of food.

He went to Disneyland.

He flew on airplanes.

I am SO glad he is home.

I'm not so great at having my babies gone for too long!

Colton's One-on-One

Colton had his one-on-one with Papa and Grandma on Saturday. Colton chose to go swimming. Papa is so awesome, as he got right into the pool with him. Colton had a great time. The boys then slept over with Papa and Grandma. They had such a great time. I am so thankful for the time that my kiddos get with their grandparents, who all love them so very much!!

I am thankful for my dad and my stepmom. I am so thankful that my dad is married to a wonderful woman who is perfect for him and that they are happy. I am also thankful that all four of my parents get along and are respectful of each other. There is never an awkwardness when they are together for family events. My boys never see the ugly side of unconventional side of families. I am so thankful that they all talk and create a loving atmosphere for my children when we are together.

I am also very thankful to have four parents. I know that sounds weird, but I need every single one of them. Each one of them teaches me and supports me and my babies in different ways. I learn different things from each of them. I am so thankful that I get to have four parents and that my children have each of them in their lives to love them as well.
