Colton's 9th Grade Dance

Amia made sure that Colton went to the 9th grade dance!
He had such a fun time!
I am so thankful for Amia and her big sister ways with Colton.
She is fiercely protective, very mama bear-like, and always willing to stick up for him.
She is very set on making sure that he is involved with as much as possible!
Here comes high school!

Colton's Weekend

Colton went with his other family this weekend to go have some fun!
Dalila took the kiddos to her brother's house (Uncle Craig).
The kids played on the trampoline, played some hoops, had an outdoor movie, made a campfire, had some s'mores, and played at the local playground.
She made sure to wear them right out!
I am so thankful for this village, where we raise our children together so that they have lots of family and so much love!

Best Buds

These two, though.

Ja'Mari will be starting seventh grade this year. Colton will be going into ninth. Amia will be in eighth. Ja'Mari is an AMAZING buddy to Colton. He gets him and he understands him and he is super patient with him. They love to hang out and have sleepovers. Ja'Mari is definitely my fifth son. Lila has been taking them to fun parks and splash pads since the summer break started. I am so grateful for the village that has been created around us... where my boys are looked after and looked over, loved and included. I am also so grateful for the time that I get with this extra littles.

Sweet Amia came over to our house Sunday night as I was getting ready to put myself in bed. She had gone to get me a birthday gift and wanted to give it to me before she left to go back up the mountain for the week. Oh, how I love that girl. And every single day when I get home from work, Sassy is right there to hug me and just holds on. Our village kind of rocks!

Friday Favorites - Friendship

Last night when I got home from the gym, I saw this. I finally bought Colton a rubber band/loom/bracelet kit. He can make these for hours. It's so good for him, his hand-eye coordination, his focus, and his creativity. Amia had laid a blanket out in front of our house and was helping to organize the colors and grouping things together. They were talking about the upcoming school year. Amia is a smarty-pants! She will be in 8th grade, but is already looking in to scholarships. She is oh, so good with Colton. She treats him just like she would treat anyone else. They are friends. I love that little family! I love their mama for raising them to be accepting and kind and patient and to focus on the hearts of people.
