LIT

Last Friday, the boys and I headed to Central Davis for the LIT Tournament. We were in charge of the concessions, as the concessions were a fundraiser for Central's wrestling program. Nightmare. Let me repeat that. NIGHTMARE.

However, my children are amazing. They are hard workers. They are good with people. They are resilient. They are problem solvers. They didn't complain once that we were there, with nothing else to do for 12 hours straight. Colton was in the closet/room straight across from us where he played on the tablet, watched movies, and played with the basketballs. He was just as happy as he could be. Braxton and Kaydon worked their booties off to take care of everything and help me.

I am super glad it's over. Seriously. Nightmare.

Instruments in His Hands

Saturday, I had planned to be at the Layton Invitational Tournament all day. Plans changed when each of the kids was asking for Mom time. I obliged. We decorated the house for Christmas, cleaned, did laundry, played games, and laughed. Meanwhile, B. Beck dropped off a basket of love to Josh at Layton High for me. He brought it home for me and I cried.
B. Beck is the closest to perfect of anyone (besides my Grandma Robb) I have ever known. She is so in-tune with the Spirit, and she acts on those things. B. has been through hard times with me, dating back 15 years. She has never left me. She has loved me, prayed with me, wiped my tears, held my children, and reminded me often that I am strong.

I have said this before, but I am surrounded by angels. I always have been. Heavenly Father has blessed me with people who have done what I think He would do if He were here. And, these people have acted on those promptings. B. Beck gifted me with so many surprises. A couple of weeks ago, Miss Birdie sent me a note and a gratitude journal. Last night, Josh and I came home late from working at Kohls to find boxes of food and detergent on our front porch. Martha gets Colton home from school safely everyday, makes us homemade chicken noodle soup, and makes me laugh when I feel like crying. Family members love us and support us and care for us.

We are so blessed. And, we are so grateful.

Sassy Frass

Quite honestly, I have been a hot mess. I cried all day and night on Monday night. I called Josh, not wanting to go to Kohls ever again. I miss my husband. I miss my kids. I miss making dinner. I miss making lunches. I miss helping with homework. I miss snuggles and loves. I am sad we haven't put up a Christmas tree. I'm tired beyond being tired. I feel like my reflexes have slowed way down. I feel like my mind is no longer sharp. I am a mess.

Yesterday, my sweet boss agreed that I was a hot mess. He HATES that I work at Kohls. Hates it. He asks me every day to quit. He can't really handle the crying and the blubbering and the mood swings. I don't know why! Anywho, he told me to take a longer lunch and go get my hair done. It was a seven month anniversary gift. I went to a snazzy salon. Like, snazzy! Like, I did not belong in there! I cried through the entire three hour appointment. Literally. Hot mess, I tell ya!

The result was a sassy frass to the max! The guys at work, who treat me like an absolute goddess, have all been coming in one-by-one telling me how "saucy" I look. I don't know if that's a compliment or an enormous insult. But, who cares! I came back to work yesterday feeling so much better. I made my family dinner last night. I loved on four boys. I loved on Gus Gus. I watched Rocky with my love. I slept so good last night. It was just what I needed!

Go Team Go!

This is our Men's Register Team on Black Friday. We rocked it. Seriously, though. We rocked it! Right before we opened the doors, our Men's team yelled, "Go Mens!" Then the Misses registers yelled, "Go Misses." Then, because I'm a sports kinda girl, we yelled, "We can't hear you!" We might be a little immature, but we are adorable!

Our Thanksgiving 2015

I worked until 2 am on Thanksgiving morning, and had to be back at the store at 5 pm. I slept until noon and woke up to my house smelling divine. Josh had been working all morning, cooking and baking. He made turkey, real mashed potatoes, stuffing, a relish tray, rolls, and pies. It was absolutely delicious. After we ate, I went back to sleep until I had to be at work. Although it wasn't at all how I wanted to spend this holiday, I was beyond grateful for a husband who let me sleep, who entertained the boys, who made a delicious holiday meal. We missed Brooklyn.
This was the view from my kitchen window. Gorgeous.

Heidi + Dead Sea Mud

Two night per week, I bond with Dead Sea mud. I slap it all over my face, wait five minutes, then wash it off. It's my way of taking care of myself and reminding myself that I really do matter. Plus, it scares the crap out of poor Gus! Gus does NOT like it when Mommy is walking around looking like this. Can you blame him?!?!
