Hola mi familia y mis
amigos!! Como le va? Estoy muy agradecer por todos ustedes!
Hello
my family and my friends!! How is it going? I’m so thankful for all of
you!
This
is it, my MTC training has been completed and I leave for my mission this
Wednesday.
A
little rewind on my MTC training. I was not expecting that, honestly I was
expecting much worse. I didn’t expect to learn so much and feel the spirit so
strong from others in my district behind a camera all day, all alone. That
showed me how immensely strong the Holy Ghost is. I was so freaking blessed to
have had that opportunity! My district was simply the best, sorry but they are.
And my teachers were the most loving, caring, and devoted mission teachers to
our success as missionary’s. I love them so much and my prayers and love will
continue to reach them long after my mission is over. I do wish you each could
meet my district! Starting off, my companion E. Lewis was a super nice guy, he
is super supportive and always had my back in all my circumstances, I’ll miss
him very much and hope that he’ll find so much peace in his mission. Next is
probably the funniest companionship ever, we have the runner ups E. Schuetzler
and his companion E. Palmer who were so great together and always made me laugh
a ton! Then our district leader and his companion, E. Elder (yeah that’s his
last name) and his comp E. Foster who were really smart, funny, and wildly
supportive of the district and could always be counted on to make drawings in
zoom breakout rooms!! Next missionary’s were E. Taylor living in Oklahoma and
E. Plummer, these two fine men were outstanding. E. Plummer was called to serve
a little differently than others but I know he’ll be blessed in any
circumstance b/c of his love and devotion to our Savior and His family. E.
Taylor was a red head who knew better Spanish than anybody because he lived in
Mexico for I think 2 years and you could always count on him to take one for
the team lol! The last guy companionship was probably the most devoted, E.
Jeppesen and his comp E. Hawkes who is actually the funniest person I’ve ever
met and is more devoted than I’ve seen any missionary be! Jeppesen is so
supportive of him and was always willing to go that extra mile, not to mention
he’s a little nuts in the best way possible! And finally we were blessed with 2
Hermanas who we couldn’t have lucked out more with! They are each so loving,
hardworking, devoted, prepared, and such beautiful sisters! Each and every one
of
these missionary’s are going to be
the best missionary’s in the world!! Our teachers couldn’t have been hand
picked better, our morning Hermana teachers, Hermana De Anda and her comp
Hermana Vargas are so so loving and worked so hard to prepare us for the field,
I loved when they always said I was a Latino with brown skin and espicy! My
afternoon teacher, Hermano Rubles was really really funny and something that I
appreciated was that he always made sure we were missionary’s of Jesus Christ.
How we looked, what we said, how we acted. But always made sure we were human.
Always having fun and enjoying the hard work! His heart was so kind and his
testimony could lift mountains!
As
for my mission, yes, my flight leaves Wednesday at 11:30, however because I
haven’t received my visa yet I have been temporarily reassigned to Puerto Rico
San Juan mission for a time, and I couldn’t be happier. The truth is, there are
people that need me there too and we can’t have them waiting so long for our
Savior can we? Nope! No we can not. So I’m going there and doing what’s needed
and as soon as my visa comes I’ll be on my way to the Dominican Republic Santo
Domingo West mission where I’ll meet up with some of my district boys hoping
they haven’t baptized too many people while I’m away! I am nervous, anxious,
and a little stressed, mostly because of the language but every night I tell
our Father in Heaven that I’m ready, not with what I know, but what He is ready
to teach me. And brothers and sisters…I’m ready.
I’m
so grateful and blessed to have all of you, to know you and love you. You’ll
all continually be in my everyday prayers.
Btw
I hope you guys like how creative I got with a couple of my outfits! It was the
only time I can dress warm until it’s short sleeve white shirts and tie!!
Mucho
amor siempre! Elder Jorgy
