Mother/Daughter Time

Mia had an eye appointment this morning.
She needed Mama to go with her because they were dilating her eyes.
Sweet girl.
She told me all about how Braxton has a bad infection in his leg.
Funny that he didn't tell me - probably because he knows I'd yell at him for not wearing knee pads at work... and for picking at scabs.
Why do all of my boys pick at scabs???
He's on antibiotics.

Sis got a new prescription for contacts and for glasses.
Her eyes have become a little bit worse.
I dropped her off at our house before coming to work.
Hopefully, she's just chillin' in my bed, watching tv.

This is a picture of my temple yesterday.
It's GORGEOUS!!!!!!
So pretty.
The Manti Temple has always been my favorite.
To me, my temple looks like a smaller version of the Manti Temple.
It's so beautiful!

Peace Offering

There is this thing we do at work...
Mr. Watkins and Beyta literally live for scaring Kalynn and I daily.
Kalynn has threatened physical harm to them more than once.
I have definitely done my fair share of scaring them as well.

But this morning, Beyta got me good!
I screamed!!
Loud.
And threw everything in my hands.
He was SO proud of his dang self.

Then he brought me a peace offering.

Sundaze

Sunday was a bit of a cognitive recovery day for this mama.
I got up and went to the gym, which I always do on Sunday mornings.
The gym is slow, with few people there.
It's so perfect for my brain.
I always sauna sit on Sundays as well.
I'm usually the only one in the sauna on Sundays and I sit and meditate for 20 minutes in the 180 degree heat.

After the gym, Colton took me to breakfast at Sil's.
Scone and a whipped cream with a little bit of hot chocolate.

I knew that church was going to be way too much for my brain, so I took my water bottle and walked my Layton Parkway Trail.
I only passed one other person.
I was able to hear the stream, the birds, and the leaves on the trees.
I was able to see the ducks playing, the clouds going through the sky, the water running slowly through the creek.
I was able to feel the sun on my face, the wind blowing on my skin, and the warmth of the air.
I was able to smell the grass.
It was exactly what I needed.
I LOVE my little places of beauty and peace.

Littles

I am missing my grandbaby!
Her beautiful mama sent me these pictures on Saturday.
Her smile and her jabbering and her giggle are the absolute best!

Saturday, Colton and I went to watch the boys while their mommy and daddy went and did some shopping.
Anson was SO excited to have some Colton attention!
He is so big.
Potty trained completely.
Talks a mile a minute.
He is SO polite!
He gives the best hugs ever.

Asher carries the remote control and rewinds/plays the exact same part of the same movie over and over and over and over and over again.
He also carries his daddy's old phone and records what he is watching on his tv and then re-watches it on the phone.
He is being potty trained and pees so well in the potty.
He was happy and playful the whole time!

Sloth

My Becky Beck sent her Dakota to my house with this gift.
Isn't it the cutest dang thing, ever??

Love me some sloths!
Sloths are my best example of the whole basement and balcony theory when it comes to our strengths.
Each strength has a balcony and a basement.
Sloths have a balcony and a basement!

We NEED to slow down, be grateful, enjoy ALL the little things, relax, hangout and be happy.
BUT, we also have to be diligent and motivated!

Today, I think I'm going to follow the advice from a sloth.

Progress

I am making some great progress in the physical category of my life and I am SO thankful.
I am so thankful that my body works and that my brain is functioning to allow it to do so.
What I am most proud of is the gains in weight I've gone up in with all of my exercises - globally.
I am lifting with heavier weights than I ever have - good form, completing all reps and sets.
I am so thankful that my body is able to do this.
And, I am proud of my progress through hard work!

Yesterday, my sweet lash girl finished up with me and told me she'd be right back.
She handed me a bouquet of flowers.
She said, "Okay, DON'T CRY. I know you've been struggling so I got you some flowers."
She always makes me cry, by the way!
She is so thoughtful and so kind.
I usually talk her ear off for the full hour I'm in the chair.
The last few weeks, I've been silent.
Instead of being irritated with me or bummed or taking it personal, she simply got me yellow flowers.
I am so thankful!

I'm Willing To Bet You Are Too!

I have decided on the name of the book I'm going to write first.

Have I told you that I am 100% positive that just about every human being is an addict?
Just because your addiction might not be to Whiskey or Heroin doesn't mean you are not an addict.
Are you constantly checking your phone?
Are you always looking at likes and comments on social media?
Are you spending all of your time (or a LOT of it) on dietary and exercise?
Are you gaming for hours?
Are you controlling of others and their schedules, their choices, their food intake? (I know a coach for that)
Are you talking about other people when they aren't around?
Are you looking at or watching pornography?
Are you gambling?
Are you addicted to chaos?

And, remember, I am also positive that an addiction to validation is the gateway addiction to all other addictions.

I am an addict!
Annnnnnd, I'm willing to bet that you are too.

Missionary Moment - Puerto Rico San Juan & Dominican Republic Santo Domingo West

This week was just a beast in itself! Missionary work this week was something totally different entirely. Good and different.

Obviously before that, I very much hope that you all had a great week! Not perfect by all means, but good enough to say that you experienced joy through the grace of the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Our missionary efforts seem to be doubling every week. Balancing so many of our friends (trying to help them progress), we went to the capital several times this week as well for Elder Townsend to preform a musical number for the entire church page (first a practice, then a recording, and next is the video portion where they've asked me to say a few words about missionary work for the entire world to see!) For those who still can't get an idea of Elder Townsend, one more thing to know about him is that he is a very talented singer and can work with any instrument without any practice!

Our Ubers drivers have been a little on the crazy side too recently as well! Going to the capital much we've been having to order Ubers and 3 of which have stuck put to us. 1.) Ronni. Ronni is a Dominican with perfect english because he has spent a ton of time in New York, apparently he is really rich at 40 years old, has two children,  one at 3 months old and the other at 23 years old, the catch is that Ronni is 40 years old. He also really what's us to get ourselves a girlfriend and go to college ( both of which he said he never had ) confused? Me too.

2.) Juan / Randolph. This trip was a kinds of crazy! Basically a member of the church rented us an Uber so we couldn't track anything, and it was called for a guy named Juan with a black Honda civic. Cool! Except for the cool part when a guy in a white Honda civic pulls up and says his name was Juan. So we got in not thinking too much of it, and kn the ride home we ended up teaching a lot about the Restoration of the Church, he was super interested and we ended up making him a new friend of ours, so we got his number, and after we again asked for his name and he said it was "Randolph", Me, "woops, looks like your covers blown there Juan". Yeah we basically got kidnapped and taught him, the down side is that he charged 300 more pesos than the original cost :(

3.) Willy. Willy is an interesting case. First thing he did when we got into his car was video tape us for 10 minutes on how good we really are, and told anybody who watched the video to talk to us, and how Jesus is good. That was all great but something about that whole drive from when we turned on the video till I got home, my spirit completely left me. I didn't feel good or comfortable. Others who know better than me say that it was okay to post but something about it just keeps me from ever wanting to see that video be posted. In the end, we told Willy that he could post it but we asked him to promise us that the next time he meets missionaries that he invites them into his home.

Other than all of these experiences we're doing all good here! I hope this next week improves for me and for each of you as well!

This one was a bit more of story time, but I miss you all tons but love you all 70 times 7!

Elder Jorgensen

KK didn't send any pictures this week, but I was able to grab these screen shots. We were able to get everyone but Colton on there! Of course, Lani was the star of the show. Kaydon lit up when he saw his sisters and his niece!

Updates

It's been a very long minute since I've given updates on this family of mine!
I am doing just fine, thanks.
I still work full-time for OC.
We are back to being in the office full-time.
I am still selling makeup and skin care (Farmasi).
I still sell CBD (Green HoriZen).
I also coach process addicts.
I am LOVING being a Gigi.
There is quite possibly nothing better on the planet than being a grandma!

Jackson and Isis are getting married June 18th, and will live in Sandy until she graduates in October.
She is going to be getting her Esthetician license.
Jackson is still with RoofTek, as a project manager.

Braxton and Mia live in Brigham City.
They don't have a wedding date set, but plan to wait until Kaydon gets home.
Braxton is still in plumbing, and is still with the same company.
He works LONG hours, six days a week.
Mia works for a vet clinic.

Kaydon (Elder Jorgensen) is in the Dominican Republic, serving his mission.
He has been out for three months, but it feels WAY longer.
His Spanish is getting better and his heart continues to love his amigos (investigators).

Colton will be graduating in May, fingers crossed.
He is still a shift leader at Hungry Howie's in Layton.
When he's not at school or working, he is hanging out with friends and working out.

Clearly, Kehlani is the favorite of everyone.
She is 21 months old.
She is feisty and sassy and SO stinking smart.
She is bi-lingual, and Gigi doesn't understand most of what comes out of her mouth.
She is into EVERYTHING, especially her uncles who are all vying to be the favorite!
She is love and light and joy and magic!

I am the most blessed person I know.
Being a mama and a gigi are the absolute highlights of my life.
I could not be more proud of my children.
They are full of integrity, grace, empathy, hard work, kindness, and love for one another.
Although empty nesting is not great for me, I am honored to be the matriarch of this family!!!

Personal Best

I had a leg day with four personal bests yesterday!
I had to do leg day because I injured my wrist on Tuesday night and Dr. Brandon told me to take a couple of days off from lifting.

I did three sets of 10 reps on the leg press at... 140 pounds!!
Personal best.
I did three sets of 10 reps on the leg curl at... 50 pounds with resistance!
Personal best.
I did three sets of 10 reps on the leg extension at... 40 pounds with resistance!
Personal best.
And, I did burn outs starting at 80 pounds on the inner and outer thighs.
Personal best.

These weights might not seem like a lot to most people, but for this girl post-stroke... I am SO grateful!

PS I love my half days!

Pretty In Pink

Baby Girl tried on Flower Girl dresses this week.
I just cannot even with this princess!!

This last one is my favorite.
SHE is my favorite!

Family Night

March's family night was Sunday.
I look SO forward to our monthly family nights!
We eat.
Play games.
Watch, love on, and adore Kehlani.
That girl could not be more loved!!!

We had chicken enchiladas and pork enchiladas.
The kids played card games.
Have I mentioned that games with our family is like WWF on steroids??

Uncle Braxton is DETERMINED to be the favorite and Kehlani is taking to it.
He danced with her and basically did whatever she wanted!
She even snuggled with him and watched cartoons.

I promise they weren't on their phones the whole time... just until Jackson's family arrived!

When Kaydon face-timed me on Monday, he asked me to get Braxton on.
Then he cried.
Kaydon is extra, extra homesick right now.
He misses his brothers and sisters, mama and niece a LOT.
If you have a few extra prayers, please send them KK's way.
